Pilsner
In the summer, definitely a lighter pilsner style. I like many of the American Pale Ales like Manny’s from Georgetown and 509 Style from Iron Horse.
Really tried liking IPAs, especially since we have a brewery on nearly every block that makes at least 3 of them, but just can’t enjoy them. They were never brewed for taste to begin with, just for longevity. And it shows.
i'm a big fan of Pale Ales and IPAs. stronger the better.
Branham96, unless you race quads you should be slammin' Busch Ice bro
I just opened an IPA right before running across this thread. Unlike some of the others I HAVE found IPAs strong enough for me. There's some extremely powerful IPAs deep in the basements of couple of our local breweries.
Currently sipping on a non-local more main line Goose Island IPA. It's about the only one I can find around here within walking distance and I have to say. It's not a bad tasting IPA.
A pilsner is a lager, but I am home brew geek..
My favorite is barleywine or oak aged imperial stout.

I don't know the difference between pilsner and lager. However, I seem to enjoy the porters whenever I get one. And I like the darker ales, too. Someone educate me!
EDIT: If it tastes vaguely like dark chocolate, coffee or caramel, I like it. If it tastes like an orange or a pine cone, I'm OUT!!
Braaapin' aint easy.

Hoppy IPAs or Pale Ales.
I've been killing coffee brews lately, IPAs and Stouts.
No Signature.

To me, Sierra Nevada is the benchmark for pale ales, but Manny's is a strong second.
My absolute favorites, though, are IPAs. Green Flash's West Coast IPA is probably my favorite beer on the planet.

OK; what's a lager??
Braaapin' aint easy.
Always have some Shiner Bock in the fridge, always love a Negra Modelo in a frosty mug at the local Mexican place, a Pacifico at another Tex Mex place, and always looking out for a Dunkel, Black Lager or a Porter anytime we hit a restaurant.
I find IPA's disgusting.
I find these delectable...

I'm no super geek, but IPAs don't do it for me, too hoppy. I do like trying random stouts and porters, and I do like the barrel aged thing.
My go to's:
Edited Date/Time:
Great Lakes Christmas ale during the holidays.
Fat heads bumble berry in the summer.
Leinenkugal shandys in the summer as well.
Magic hat ? #9
Sierra Nevada pale ale
Any porter/stout. Especially Guinness.
Tall draft bud light with hot wings
Corona extra with line at tony and joes place on new Smyrna beach.
I cannot do IPAs. I’ve tried. And it’s just hard to get down. Taste like fermented pine-sol ? to me.
GP740
Since 1987
My top 2 beer are Shiner Bock and Yuengling. Just sucks I cant get the Yuengling out here on the west coast.

Learn something new everyday. Didn't realize/know they were the same. A lager always seems a bit heavier to me.
I do know that I enjoy some of the reds out there. Not a fan of the dark ones, a couple here and there are okay. IPAs? I have yet to find one that I can stomach.
