I know Ive posted several times on this but damn, watching that video almost looks some CGI from a new Tom Cruise Sci-Fi movie scene. As a guy who watched the first lunar landing and steps on the moon (on black & white TV with rabbit ears), seeing this kinda shit truly humbles me.

Very cool. Hope what happened to the center core never happens on one of these land landings. Would put a pretty good hole in the ground.

That was my first thought watching the twin boosters landing. If that final burn doesn't ignite there are a couple of missiles headed for the ground!

I guess as long as they're not too far off course it wouldn't be all that big of a deal. I imagine if they do go off course there is a detonation to break it up into smaller chunks before hitting the ground... maybe. Smile

What a crazy day. We spent Monday at KSC and got to see the FH on the pad as we drove by 39. Close enough for the below snap.

Tuesday we got out early to Port Canaveral, all the way at the end towards the station entrance. Big thanks to Shawn for the directions on where to watch from. You were spot on man!!
Frankly watching this thing on ascent was unbelievable but then seeing the two boosters land in formation put me into shock. My girlfriend was with me and wasn't a huge fan before Monday started - by the time the landing completed Tuesday she was cheering louder than I was.

100% this set me on the path to see one of these closer up. The 'feel the heat' package will be the next launch I witness for sure. The bucket list item is to watch from the top of the VAB though. Not sure how I'll manage to make that happen.

Glad to hear, that's my favorite spot if I can't get on base. There's truly nothing like watching and feeling a launch. It leaves you with no doubt that's the most powerful thing humans have ever made. The clear day made it absolutely perfect.
