He was streaming live yesterday and saying what team/make was coming past. I could make out a slight difference in engine notes which I'd never really heard before... Or paid attention to?

I heard (haha get it) they were going to open up the exhaust rules more to give them more, better, sound. Basically "hey put megaphones on the back of your cars".

Wasn't there a rule in change in place specifically to address the sound? To make them sound louder/better?

That is badass EZ, i used to sponsor a guy who raced 80cc shifters way back in the day, did all his mototwork. Here is a pic, check out the oldschool OC Racing logo on the front cowling.

Fuck yeah! What kind of engine was that? My brother's was just the 100cc Clubman I think? I didn't know much about it as I was still riding didn't pay too much attention. Saw the dudes with the Rotax hauling at the track though!

I basically have no idea, hahaha.

The commentators said they have new helmet regulations, and that they are a little slimmer.

See what i mean?

I`m really excited to see if this will make it more exciting (Passing) to watch. That change in the DRS is to try and keep the lap times close to last year. The biggest change is to the front wing, gone are the days on manipulating the aro around the front tyres with crazy ( and fragile) winglets.

Just wait and see what kind of trap speeds we see in Spa and Monza!!

So far in testing I have seen quite a few instances where a faster car still gets stuck behind a car and cant pass. Guess we will have to wait and see come AUS.

Cool I would love to see some of the data streaming off such a device. As an IT guy wonder what kind of software they use to tie it all together. Good stuff

First trailer for new Netflix F1 series “Drive to Survive” revealed

The first trailer for “Drive to Survive”, the new Netflix series on Formula 1, has been revealed.
Netflix has commissioned 10 episodes of the series, which will become available on March 8th ahead of the start of the 2019 F1 season.

The executive producer of the series is James Gay Rees, who produced the successful 2010 documentary Senna.

F1 media rights director Ian Holmes said “this truly unique series embodies the sport and helps us to showcase and unearth the untold stories on and off the track.

“Partnering with Netflix to create an original series puts us at the forefront of becoming a media and entertainment brand and attracting new fans to the sport,” he added.
