Wow that’s gnarly! Around here police chases and wrong way drivers on the freeway are quite frequent. I wish they would make the penalty more severe for this. Make it 20 years mandatory prison sentence and maybe these won’t happen as much.

That aluminum does not dent and bend, it cracks and tears. My concern is for all the other collisions where those cab mounts get stressed. Is cab replacement going to be a factory recommended procedure going forward for collision repairs?Blink

The term Coke can coffin is real.
Used to only apply to small cars that would crumple up like a coke can, but now that they are aluminum......

Did that F150 have the optional Ejection cab or some shit? I mean, not sure if thats good or bad.

Where is the bed? Where the hell is the rear diff?

A lot. Unfortunately I know a few who honestly believe that nonsense. My brother in law being one. He argued up and down with my other brother in law about "military grade aluminum". The funny thing is the other brother in law is an engineer who works for the Navy. Navy engineer brother in law tried explaining the bull shit behind Ford's military grade aluminum but dumb ass brother in law simply wouldn't believe him because the Ford salesman "is a good guy and wouldn't lie." Truck probably pulled out into the street infront of the Camaro while it was doing Camaro things. Just looking at the axle and how everything is all peeled back, it probably took a shot right there.

Remember the one that caught the utility pole through the magnesium radiator support just inboard of the inner fender rails? Sheared the entire side assembly off.

I'm trying to think back to my metallurgy classes . I remember learning that forging was stronger because they can align the grain structure in the strongest possible direction per application during the forging process.
