I don't know if anyone else has heard of this but with some of the recent topics/comments I think it is appropriate to post this. You can do some more research to get a more detailed explanation but it boils down to this, stupid people tend to over estimate their intelligence/competency and tend to be more tenacious in trying to prove to others they are right. Where as someone of intelligence often will under estimate their intelligence and competency and will sooner give up in an argument and move on. We all know someone that you wonder how they are successful when the are barely above a neanderthal. This is why.
One way to summarize the Dunning-Kruger effect: you're to stupid to know you're too stupid to know.
