Don't use that kind of bank. Just the same old locally-owned brick-and-mortar bank I've used since 1969. Still free checking, no charge debit card. Interest on savings account is down to 3/4% though.

Yup.

However, if ya put $20K or more in one of their better acct's...you can earn a few dollars; also, it's not real smart, nowadays, to have more than $100k in any single chk/savings acct or institution.

I'm jus' sayin'...

did this since day one, well, working age. Just seemed safe!

Went into a wells fargo with a friend and was shocked at how bad he was treated.
I take my dog into my bank for the munchies. (one of the tellers is a cutie/dog lover)

It's been closer to 15 years for me. At first I was like, "I'd NEVER get rid of my bank" and then I realized that didn't mean credit unions. LOL! I never realized I was so progressive.

It might take a while for that claim to process. Better to have a stash in another bank as opposed to it all being in one.

My Mom opened up accounts at Washoe credit union in the 60's for me and my sister. It was a credit union for employees of Washoe medical center, the biggest hospital in Reno. Every time she got a new grand child she'd open them an account, so our whole family banks there.

I've tried a couple big banks over the years and even had some luck in the early 80's, but I've always kept my credit union as my primary bank.

It probably was a mistake and some 90 year old lady just lost 50$ that she really needs. Might actually want to see where it came from.

I've personally seen banks transfer money to the wrong account, and the wrong persons account.
