You can find all the days summaries in the Blue box. The Doc was just an arrogant Fuck, some of his comments after the incident are real head shakers. Looks like he will meet a few new friends soon.

Think next time the cyclists are riding 3 abreast and a car is behind them, they'll move over?

They were doing the speed limit right?

If it were a truck going the speed limit then what? A real chickenshit thing to do.
He caused a collision where he could hurt the other guy and not himself. He deserves to get sent up for it.

Bet that makes you feel like a big man doesn't it?

Pull that around here and you can expect to get a visit from the cops.

I hope this guy gets some real jail time. People seem to fail to realize that cyclists have the same rights to the road as motorist do. If its not save for me to ride near the edge of the road, I'll ride in the middle. Do you really think that 30 seconds of your life is worth putting someone else's into serious risk?

Anybody that does that to bikers is usually fat. Most pedal bike riders I encounter have a prima donna attitude that they have the same rights to the roads as the motorists. Huh

If he had already brake checked them once on the same road, why were they tailgating him again?

If you rear end another car, it's your fault for following too close. I agree this guy was a dick head for doing that, but why were they following so close?

typical lose-lose proposition. We have lots of cyclist in my area (or used to before they screwed up the roads). They could be a PITA, but I always tried to give them their space.

I have seen many cyclist that act like dickheads though. Seems that there are people on both sides of the issue that need to do a better job of respecting others.

Next time you're driving on the interstate in your SUV, try getting in the slip-stream of a tractor tailer rig and see how that works out...

I've ridden 1,000's of miles on the road on a bicycle. I always respected the cars, as I was more of a guest on their roads. Too bad others do see it the same way. I'm not going to get into a cage with a bull and try and piss him off!!! It's all about respect, unfortunately that seems to be a dying trait among Americans...

Bicycles aside, in California, you have to be nuts or suicidal to ride a motorcycle on the road. You're like a fine china teacup in a stampede of steel horses.

Screw THAT. Woohoo

Even though we have the same rights as a car, how many people with a license follow the rules? It really isn't smart to ride three abreast even though you have a right. The car will win every time. Too many drivers think of their car as a weapon also.

WOW! I don't know where you are from but in Iowa eye witnesses still get people charged and convicted. The Des Moines Police even have a hot line for it. I guess it's just true what they say about people in arkansas "I didn't see a thing officer".

There's idiots in cars and idiots on bikes. Humans can be idiots. Bicyclist do have every right to be on the road and cars "should" give them a wide berth. Bicyclist "should" use their heads for something besides a place to hang their helmets. A bicyclist may be right in establishing himself in a lane but whats the use of being "dead right"?

I see lots of dumb stuff out where I live. Heres a "werid" one that happened to me the other day. Im in my truck, on a 2 lane country road, speed about 45 mph. I come to a large "S' turn in the road. I start around the bend and as I do I notice a couple of cars are heading towards me in the opposite lane. But what catches my attention is they are both pulling into my lane (on coming) so that they can give a wide berth to two bicyclist who are doing their best to ride on the very outside of the asphalt but the road edge is pretty bad and there is no bike lane. Normally Id just get over to my right as much as possible to give the oncoming cars plenty of room. But this time Id need to put my right side wheels in the dirt to facilitate this....still not a real big deal except that on my shoulder of the road were two women walking towards me. So now I have 3 options and 3 nano seconds to make a choice. 1. I can have a head on collision with the cars. 2 I can save my life and take the lives of the two women as I make them hood ornaments or 3. I can jump on the binders and hope I can stop in time. I opted for #3 and the oncoming cars swooped back into their lane at the last moment.

What "should" have happened but almost never does is the drivers coming up behind the bicyclist should have slowed down to the speed the bikes were going and followed them around the turn until it was safe to pass. But what almost always happens is the car driver will usually give a little room and even swerve to their left but will almost never slow any at all and usually seem to just try to squeeze thru and thread the needle.

It just shows how impatient a spieces we are. To the point of taking chances and doing dumb shit. Including riding bicycles on roads that put said riders life in danger.

I don't agree with what the Doc did, but I have a hard time mustering up much sympathy for the cycling community as a whole, Most of those fuckers think they own the roads and trails they ride on, especially when they ride in groups. They are more often than not very aggressive.

Yes the drivers of those oncoming cars need their asses kicked.

There's links to the trial summaries there that say the driver swooped in front of them and slammed on the brakes to cause them to crash into his car.
If it was a tailgating case they couldn't have convicted him, but he admitted to trying to "teach them a lesson" by getting in front of them and slamming on the brakes.

Insurance scammers do the same thing with their cars to big trucks to get 'slam dunk rear ender' settlements from trucking companies. Difference being, unlike the driver of the car in this story - at least the scammers have some skin in the game when they get whacked by a truck. ...
