Maybe once a week. We have electric gate so cars can go in and out. He will stay in most of the time. He is fixed (small boston). The yard is one yard so he has full access to full yard. How do I stop him? Any help would be appreciated.
How old is the dog?
The Shop
Dogs get pissed if they don't get to go exploring on a regular basis.
Start with walks before bed time.. Reward with treats everytime roofy goes potty..
Whack its ass everytime there's a mishap.... Don't beat the fucker, just whack its ass..
Reward good behavior, punish bad behavior...... Don't beat the damn dog!!
I'm serious.
Reward for going potty..
Make sure to take the dog out BEFORE you go to bed!
The key to keeping your dog in your yard is a leash!! DO NOT use an electric fence!! They don't work! It just teaches the dog to get more aggressive when it tries to leave the yard!
Put the dog on a leash that's ten feet shy of your property line.. Work with it so it doesn't go to the end of its leash.
Dog training is a lot of work, But you have to do it!
It's an electric GATE the dog is dashing through.
You're right about the electric fence, though.
I tried that years ago.
The dogs figured out pretty quickly that if you haul ass, it only hurts for a second.
Shortly after that, they figured out that they could lay in the warning zone until the batteries went dead, and destroy all the planters they want.

I just typed away!! My bad!
Yes, yes, I meant gate! not fence!!! If your dog can go through an electric fence, I'll be a scared mofo!!!! And your dogs will be getting kicked and hit as many times I can connect said blows!!
