Honest question from a fiscally conservative ,socially liberal ,atheist ,Canadian. In my opinion hes a snake oil salesman. It seems so obvious to me. Im absolutely so confused on how so many people actually like and respect this man. Including most of my Canadian freinds.I can understand supporting many of his policies. Is that the reason of your avid support? Does it Trump (pun intended) his assholishness? Im seriously interested in how a crook who went bankrupt several times fucking up so many people financially. A man who said John McCain was a loser and not a hero can have so much admiration.
I think trump is a symbol for many but most see him as he is, a cutthroat business man. However the ideals he talks about are more important than the man it appears. He gets much unneeded scrutiny in press and much deserved scrutiny in my opinion.
There was a vacuum that was going to be filled eventually, and trump was the person to do it. It will be interesting if the rhetoric can be toned down in the future. It’s unfortunate that people don’t realize how good we have it compared to many on this earth regardless of who’s president.
The Shop
It’s the opposite with Obama…I think he’s a good man, if he were my neighbor we’d be friends, Id have him over for dinner….but the things he did as president, for the most part (not everything) I disagreed with, and made America weaker.
I’d Biden were my neighbor, I’d have my kids mowing the senile old man’s lawn, and taking his trash to the curb, maybe bring him some cookies once in a while (so he feels like he has friends) but tell them never to believe a word he says because he’s lost it mentally.
Just curious.
However, his old school New Yorker Elite mentality- personality isn't a good look for this country (or hasn't been going good by the amount of folks who hate him).
I think it makes a lot of folks hate the man which leads them to hate anything he does in a political sense.
And also makes the same people hate anyone who supports/backs his policies.
Now onto your question. I mentioned this before, and I will post it again. This why I respect Trump.
You might not like his personality, I am no American. However I'd be voting for RESULTS. First to make USA Energy Independent; First to deal directly with North Korea and bring home American deceased; First to tame China; First to address U.S. Border; Real Tax Cuts For Middle Class; NO NEW WARSl; Lowest Unemployment since 1969 (50-Years); Destroyed NAFTA; Stopped Clinton Crime Family; Draining the Deep State Swamp; FIRST PRESIDENT TO fulfill MORE promises than any other in Office! I won’t be eating ground Sword ⚔️ Fish for dinner 🥘 tonight. 🏁🏁🏁
Yeah he said and did a lot of cringey shit but guess what?
All politicians do .
They're nice about it and prefer to lie and keep it hidden which is the historical norm.
I get why he turns people off with his style and tone but if those are your top priorities in a candidate (to be spoken to nicely) then someone like Obama is your guy who accomplished little but he made ya' ll " feel good".
Hell I fell for it and voted for him!
So as a very flawed man I respected the hard and long over due decisions Trump made .
I value that over being spoken to nicely.
In a perfect world we would have both but it's not.
What is so telling is how the political establishment was against Trump's positions that they themselves supported for years. (Border security for example)
But he didn't ask nicely so they chose to block his efforts to the detriment of America.
Obama, Clinton, Schumer etc are on record for years supporting this issue.
You don't have to like or respect the jerkstore chef at the expensive restaurant in town to enjoy the food.
