Feeling very conflicted, I need some help. I'm going to buy my little girl a Strider bike. I want to get her the Fly Racing model from BTO Sports for $129+tax, OR I could get one from Target for $92.72 since they sell them for $109 and have a $25 discount on all toy purchases over $100, but the Target model doesn't have the Fly logo or number plate. I know Pulp says to put Pulp in the comments of the order to receive a discount, but I won't know the discount until I purchase. I'd really like to support BTO/Pulp, but it's also about a $40 difference for basically the same thing, just one has a Fly sticker and a number plate. What to do?

A lot of my past purchases were based on the “labeling” such as the Fly model you mentioned. Now I’m old and a little wiser. If the quality is the same I’d go with the Target strider and put whatever stickers you choose to give it the “moto” look

I'd buy from bto, the fly logos will look more official at the strider races. Unless you're hurting for money, and you could use that $40 to take your daughter to the aquarium.

I asked that question a lot when I was single.

Do I save money or do I support the Strippers Industry?

This is a tough one. I’d buy fhe one from BTO but I don’t know if this is the correct answer. I do know I don’t think companies like Target and Walmart don’t appreciate my business whereas BTO likely does.

Just looked, seems like the licensed bikes have been discontinued? What a bummer. My son has the Yamaha. I think licensed bikes were $20 more. I’m sure you can find one somewhere. Photo

Go to your local moto dealer and order one. That’s where we got my sons from, and I got my standard awesome discount they give on everything else. I got the bike for less than either price above, supported my dealer, and got my boy a strider all in one. Maybe give that try before ordering or swinging by the target store.

We bought our daughter a Specialized strider. Thing is built like a tank and still is in great shape after 3 years of riding.

With that being said, she outgrew the thing so quickly that if we did it over again I probably just would have went with something cheaper.

On a positive note, she went directly from the strider to the next size up pedal bike with no training wheels. Was riding on her own with only a few hours of practice in the grass. Did exactly what I had hoped. She struggled more with the motion of pedaling (keeping her feet on the pedals) but balancing, turning, and stopping was never an issue.

I paid $40 on eBay for a new open box one that was missing one little bolt on the steering stem. Much better than $200 from the local KTM / Husky dealer. I support the industry when it makes sense to do so. I feel bad for people who need to profit off things, but I'm not going to spend money foolishly for one with a certain sticker on it for a child who can't even read the over priced sticker.
