Wow, Valentin had a nasty getoff:

A good buddy from my race club won the 500 class both yesterday and today. He almost won moto3 yesterday but got passed at the line. I didn't hear yet how he did in M3 today. Another buddy from my club came in 4th in the 500 class today. Would have been cool to see them both on the podium.

That looked weird like he hit some fluid or a gear let go.

Maybe he got off the edge of pavement.

Way before the kink.

Yeah, it sounds like the front wheel locked up because of something in the quick change mechanism.

When the bike first flip it looks like the front isn't turning.

They're also saying it just may be a case of the rear losing traction when he got out on the paint and that's what it looks most like.

That was crazy! That's what it looked like to me, seemed to lose grip when he hit the paint

He took a hard hit, glad he was moving, any updates on his condition?

Any of you guys see this. Takes a couple minutes to load because there's so much on it, but it's worth it. Some of the early stuff appears to be from old Super 8. I especially enjoyed the one from '74 the year I went. Seeing guys like Ago, Sheene and Smart reminded me of what the 200 was like back in the day. Truly an international race. BTW 74 was the year they introduced the TZ700, a landmark.

My first bikeweek was 74 I was eleven.

I remember it well tho. The long ribbons of rubber laid down by overpowered bikes.

When we would get to the track I was gone. Wouldn't see my parents for hours.

For SX ,I think that yr was the 1st SX it was a transam race before .could be wrong.

But during SX I found a hole in the fence and roamed the pits all day.

Good times

Remember in the SX, they jumped off the pit wall? Talking about the bikes, I remember Romero pulling out of the pits after a fuel stop. His TZ loaded up a little and was sputtering but was still carrying the front wheel.

I was 23 and ended up spending most of Sunday night bailing my buddy out of jail.

Yeah, he was released from the hospital the same day. I'm sure he'll be sore for a few days though. Smile

Ouch!! That was nightmare-ish.

Forgive my ignorance, but someone told me that race wasn't around anymore so I didn't even look into it

It's no longer an AMA pro race (now Moto America) so there is not nearly the interest that there once was. Still a lot of big names from the lower levels if you're into road racing at all. A good buddy of mine actually won the 500 class on Friday and Saturday and won the 300 class on Saturday, took 2nd on Friday in the 300 class. Another good buddy took 2nd and 4th. The guy that got kicked off in the video actually broke the track record the day before to get the pole position (I believe he was already the record holder prior to that). It was not televised but it was streamed on fanschoice.tv. Road Racing is pretty much drying up here in the states as far as interest it seems, sadly.

It’s so sad what happened to road racing in America, in the off season I use to ride with jimmy adamo, twins champion, rode motocross together and he would tell all the cool stories

The 200 use to be the highlight of bike week, now no air play at all, what happened void?

Sadly jimmy died at the 200, you don’t want feld involved in road racing, they’ll have you guys doing figure eights
