Our cat just died. He was just 14. Had a huge seazure, I rushed him to hospital but there was nothing to be done. Doctor says he had thrombus somewhere in his lower legs. At least he went fast. RIP, Rich.

RIP kongols-cat.
Our old guy has one incisor left and is on meds to keep him going. Still wants to hunt mice and birds at 14. The mind is willing but the body isn't. Will hate to see him go.
Sorry for your loss moto-bro.
Sorry to all of you and your families. I couldn't imagine losing my little asshole cat during these times.
I feel for you all.
I'm sorry for your loss. Really sad time when you lose your furry family members. 2 on my lap as I type. I know you gave him a great life. Everyone's shy cats love me for some reason. I always joke when asked why and say, "They know who is the pure one !"
I don't have to be as smart as you hope to be some day anymore.
Sorry to hear about that Kongols, cats are the best. We have recently lost two of our old strays who have called this place home for the last 12 and 14 years. Have another one who has hated me for the last 14 years , even tried to kill me once, and is now my best friend. She isn’t doing too well and may not be around much longer. Always a bummer when they go.
Got a pic of Rich?

This actually blows my mind a little . When I was just a kid , we found a stray kitten and our family took him in. Our parents asked us ' What do you want to name him?".......Me , my brother and sister named him Fourteen ".....I still to this day , have no idea why. He died exactly one day after 14 years to the day we took him in. Sorry Andris to hear that. Keep your chin up dude. Losing a pet can be a tough thing for sure. I've always been a dog person , but man , over the years I've owned some pretty badass cats. Was tough every time we lost a pet.
And there goes Jeffro. One of God's own prototypes. A super high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
Pimpin' Ho's , Rollin' fatty's......drinkin' beers , beers , beers!! ~ Ja

His Majesty.
That is a shame Kongols. Always so hard to lose our loving pets. Thank god she went quickly.
Last Sept I was at the dump/transfer station and as I was unloading my trailer I saw some movement in a old couch that someone had just unloaded. It was two tiny kittens, about 2-3 days old. Eyes closed and tiny. This is at a transfer station where every 30 mins or so the tractors push all the junk into big machines that compact it. I took them with me and went straight to pets mart for formula and bottles. After bottle feeding them every 3-4 hours the little guys made it and we kept them both. They are the most loving cats we have ever owned. Our tenant girl even taught them how to use the toilet....a real toilet! It is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. They can’t flush of course but it sure is nice not having any litter boxes.
Cats are real characters and I’m sorry for your loss...like you don’t already have enough shit going on. Take care
I'm very sorry to hear about this Kongols cats are very cool and each one has their own personality.
I did a quick count and I've had 11 in my lifetime a recent pack of three is down to one and she has been my favorite cat of all time. I dread the day when it happens, she is 17 and has a Thyroid condition.
The picture of Rich, you can tell he was a cool cat as well.
I'm sure you gave him a great life and that's all a pet can ask for.

My oldest one has a thyroid issue also. Oral meds made her throw up a lot so the doc got her a transdermal oitment that goes on the inside of her ear. Seems to work. The meds affect kidney function though so she eats and drinks a lot and pisses a lot. Her weight loss seems to have stabilized, no dry food, wet only.

We give her ThermaSol twice a day. She does not seem to be throwing up but yes she's more thirsty than usual her appetite kind of goes up and down have to give her the prescription required KD food as well as dry.
And yes we have to monitor her kidneys as well with Tests
Why did you stop giving your cat dry food?
Losing a pet flat out sucks especially right now.
We are the sum of a 1,000 lives. What we know is almost nothing at all.

Yes I agree Kongols I think you should go and rescue a kitty. It would help bring a smile to your face and I think Rich does not want you to be sad it would be a win-win situation especially for the rescue Kitty.

Well if anything good has come of this, it is that I think the comments in this thread may have diagnosed the problem that my eldest cat has. Her symptoms seem to indicate a thyroid problem. I will have to take her to the vet to get her checked out. 👍
bummer deal Kongols, losing a pet is one of the hardest losses i've ever gone through. sorry to hear it
Sorry for your loss bud! We picked up this guy (Flynn) after our Vizsla passed away December 18th. We decided that with our work schedules it was not fair for us to get another dog, so we got our other cat a buddy. Turned out to be about the quirkiest animal i have ever owned! This is how he sleeps every day!
Sorry to hear , 14 years is a long time. I'm sure he had a good one , i've had couple big blackcats over the years , they are cool. Super hunters , kill everything , funny he brought dead bunny's to the door twice on Easter, Wierdo , lol.
Sorry to hear of your loss.
We lost one cat, one dog and several family members last year. In some ways, one of the pets was the hardest to handle. Seems strange to type that out.
