You guys find something else to make up. They've taken the 'death panels' out of the bill.
Now grandma and grandpa will have to pay for their living will counseling sessions.

How can they take out something that wasn't there in the first place. I don't care one way or another, I just think it's kind of funny.

Why shouldn't g-ma and g-pa have to pay for their living will counseling sessions?

because having a living will saves the HC industry and the family money, not to mention saving the patient long term suffering

Billions (prob trillions) are pissed away annually on unwanted long term life sustaining procedures because people don't have living wills or advance directives

They took out something that was COMPLETELY misconstrued and would have been beneficial to everyone....patient, family, HC system

Billions are wasted and lost because people don't have living wills or advance directives

And why is this the governments responsibility to pay for?

Trillions? You sure you know what a trillion is? I realize the present administration tosses that figure around like it's something we can grasp, but you'll have to find a more reasonable figure to get my attention.

because it raises the cost of HC, they're elderly, they're already on medicare/medicaid, why not add a code allowing a physician reimbursement 1x every 5 yrs to discuss what care the patient wants when shit goes south?

Otherwise, the medicare/medicaid you're already paying for will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep someone on life support, even though they're suffering, terminal and VERBALLY expressed that they didn't want to go out that way, because VERBALLY DOESN'T MEAN SHIT

Want proof?

Terri Schivo

People need it IN WRITING, a proper living will or advance directive

Need to do it while the patient is still physically and mentally capable of executing it

Otherwise, the government is going to needlessly piss away billions on unnecessary and unwanted long term terminal care that the patient doesn't want....but it's your money

That's why I said "(prob trillions)" because I realize that's a guess

Thought that was pretty obvious, but gee whiz, I guess I thought you guys were smart enough to realize that as well

Terri Schivo was not old.

Everyone should have a living will, I'll certainly not argue that point.

and that's all this was, compensating your physician or counselor in regards to your having or updating your living will to your wishes, 1x per 5 yrs
