It's not what it used to be but the Daytona 200 starts in a couple of hours and you can watch it here:

https://www.fanschoice.tv/

One of my racing buddies is actually racing in today's race and several other buddies are pitting for him. I believe Josh Hayes will also be competing. I am interested to see how he does.

My God. Attendance looks, like, nothing,

Had to create an account no problem.
Weather looks great.
The bikes are beautiful. Off the scale.

Half an hour to go till the start, one wonders, how the hell did the biggest mororcycke race in the world shrink to what it is today?

Talk about confusionGrinning

People running around, can't get them off the track, the sight in lap was even like each man for himself.

Did I hear a 16 year old kid is on pole!

This is Effin great!

Great racing. Great race.

You don't realize how, ah, antiseptic a lot of racing has become until you see The 200.

The big bank. The drafting. The passing, the close riding. The almost frantic riding
Blue flags would have sucked today. Blue flags do suck. They would have changed the outcome big time.
Guys passing squids on pit row, 2 pit stops that were hectic to say the least. Backmarkers, and the dodging of them
is exciting. When the young guy Kelly got held up in the 2nd pit I thought he handled it well. Until he almost spun out
on cold tires, than overshot the next turn and had to take that side roadLaughing . Talk about being pumped up. And still almost winning it.
The way 2 way radio seemed to help a few realize, geez, I gotta get going, those guys are catching me.

Hey, Maybe the masses aren't really needed. 2/3 of what made this a good race would evaporate with the endless
rules that seem to follow anything that gets really big.

And hey Void, tell your buddy just to finish that thing is a monumental achievement in itself. Congrats.

Ya, good race.

Lucky break for a few of those guys.

Call it luck maybe, and more than a few would have had 311 get out of the way. I think it was 21 that even motioned over and looked at him like wtf are u doing.

I thought it was great. Good on Kelly.

Good job for your buddy void.

I too signed up and registered on that site.

When I did a search for Daytona 200 the 75th annual came up.
The race is such a shadow of what it once was I watched it and did not realize it was 3 years old!!!

I tried to find the 78th Daytona 200 and could not find it are they only up for a certain time and then removed.

I've been to three Daytona Bike weeks and the Daytona 200 used to be awesome I'm sure it was still a good race, can't believe the only way you can view it is through an app.

I tell you what tho Gman.
Yea, we lost signal for a few minutes.
And it wasn't the highest definition for sure.

But they showed the whole race.
Were there any commercials? I don't remember seeing any.
Probably killed me data wise on my tablet, but hey, I think it was well worth it.

As far as attendance, I dunno what, or who can turn it around.
And I'm not just talking about Daytona.
The street bike scene in general. I see guys out there, must be 10 times the amount of people riding street
than there is Supercross. At least.
Then you look at the stands at the Indy, and Atlanta SX rounds, and compare them to The Daytona 200.

WTF is going on?

I looked around, seems as tho they are squirreling stuff away.
It's nowhere. Just a few private clips on utube.

I don't know if it was ever rebroadcast.
Reminds me of pre 80s TV.
You missed it, you missed it for good.Sad

Yeah, my buddy got $1300 for 37th. That's WAY more than I've ever gotten for 1st. Smile I assume that much of the purse money comes from sponsorship. Plus I'll bet entry fee is pretty hefty.
