How are you going to protect and cover the exterior walls?

I'll be building a pop up truck camper, similar in design to the 4 wheel camper style, except I'll have it resting on the bed rails instead of the typical camper floor as it gives you maximum floor space.
I'll be using smooth 1/4" ply, doing poor man's fiberglass using titebond2 and canvass. It should come out looking near factory by the time I'm done.

Great question. I have gone back and fourth between Aluminum sheets, or fiberglass rolls, and even Bathroom and Kitchen plastic panels. I also toyed with the idea of sheets of plastic diamond plate sheets (can't seem to find these though). I an d going to talk to a buddy of mine who has been an RV repair guy for a long time and see what he things. I will keep you posted.

I would love to see your project. Any videos or pics?

I like the mini camper idea ,I'm currently looking around at the possibility of doing something similar with a AWD astro/safari van to use as a base camp for some deep woods bowhunting next hear.

cool idea haha you interested in making another one?! haha

LoL,
I have had a couple people ask me this. If I didn't have a job I would consider building customer toy haulers for a living. I really like it. But this project has taken me so much longer than I estimated. I thought originally it would take 6 to 8 weekends. I am now at 20!.
