A good friend and co-worker got into a wakeboarding accident Saturday. Lost consciousness, had a seizure and got careflighted to a local hospital. Oddly enough, they discharged him and sent him home the same day with a concussion. They didn't want to keep him overnight due to Covid.
Yesterday, he wasn't able to form a sentence or articulate what was wrong. He also felt really bad so his wife took him back. He has a dissection of the carotid on both sides of the brain. He's in the neuro ICU right now and stayed overnight.
The process seems to be taking FOREVER but probably typical in the medical community. Right now the doc is saying the dissection could cure itself or they could do some sort of operation. They're waiting on a consult from a neurologist.
Anyone have any experience or input on what to expect?
