Bloody hell, mid life crises or what, so bought a dyno after not ridding a bmx for o ver 35yrs and things have moved on abit

The headstock has fair bit of play on the headstock, so from memory would of thought it would be the bearings

It's got one of them fancy spinner things (I don't know what there called) where the break cable goes through the stem

Firstly I tightend the main nut, but it didn't have an effect, so I took it all apart and there was more in there from back in my day

Does all the parts look to be there, is there anything missing
The bottom fork bearing set don't look great, but how do you get the top bearing out 😳

It's called a gyro or detangler. I don't remember the rotor being serviceable but you can still buy them so easy enough to replace.

Vital has a BMX forum. Maybe head over there for some help.

Racefan is correct, you don't disassemble the actual gyro assembly. You can spray cleaner in there and try to pack some grease but I'd just grab a new one.

Cheers boys

OK, iv since learnt that the bearings are sealed in the silver bit

It's this make

I'll order set of bearings and see how that goes, the bottom fork bearings are knackered, so hopefully that's causing the play

It is an 1-1/8” loose bearing standard (non integrated) headset, you may be able to find an updated sealed unit through a company like odyssey or snafu.

Cheers all

For some reason I thought it would be a PIA to get spares for these bikes, I think was comparing it to collectable motorbikes, where parts are scarce and pricey
