Agreed. I have been to all the big one's Mortons, Gibson, etc and I do not think they are anywhere near worth the $$.

X3...I can cook up a steak that's as good as anything I've had anywhere.

But, there are a lot of good places in Texas to get a rib eye or t bone. We have the high end restaurants, but some of the better ones are pretty much out of the way places.

I agree but sometimes you gotta go out.

Last night I made steak sandwiches that were awesome. Some really nice little filets, seasoned only with salt and pepper, grilled then served on oven broiled bread topped that was topped with pepperjack cheese. Twice baked potatoes, broccoli florets and huge green salad served with St. Francis cab.

Whole thing cost me about 100 bucks to feed ten people. I love standing around grilling and visiting. Good times, good times.

1 1/4in. thick Black Angus hand cut ribeye from Jack's Pak-It coated in good olive oil, kosher salt and very coarse black pepper and grilled on my patio. Grilled onions basted in Shiner Bock beer to top it off. Cost, about $12.00. Anything else is overpriced shit.

I am man enough to admit too - that my wife can cook one HELLUVA steak. She is really talented on a grill, I was very suprised first time I came home to a steak dinner... Juicy, delicious, and seasonsed JUST right.

No steak sauce, no salt, no garlic, no ANYTHING needed. Just a fork and a knife and enjoy the perfection. I've eaten at some pretty nice places, but I will admit my wifes steak takes the cake.

There have only been a few places that were as good as what comes off our grill at home. The Quiet Women is one of them. The best I have ever had was some steaks my son came home with from the specialty grocery store he was a butcher at. They melt in your mouth. Also had a steak up in BC at a chain called the Keg. AAA Angus from Alberta. One other was Kobe at a place in Vegas. I can't remember the name it was in the Parisians mall.

Ruth's Chris in Virginia Beach although there are other locations.
The pecan crusted sweet potatos are the shit!

We're trying the River Stone Chophouse in Suffolk, Va for our anniversary.

And I must admit I make a pretty mean steak.

These are Canadian, but great steaks none the less.

In Vancouver try Gotham. Best steak I've ever had.

In Montreal try Moisha's. Second best steak....

And I can cook a mean steak at home. These guys are good! Pricey but worth it for an occasion, and I can rarely ever justify the cost of an expensive dinner out. I can usually do it better at home, but these places put me to shame.

I tell anyone I'm grilling steaks for, "If you put sauce on your steak, you aint eating here. I'll grill you a burger and you can put all that crap on you want."

I had to go outside and eat my steak over at my brother-in-law's when I saw him put KETCHUP on his ribeye!

I'll have to check that place out.

Update: Do you mean Rosemont?
http://www.gibsonssteakhouse.com/
Yep. Sorry for the typo. It's like 5 minutes from Ohare. Which reminds me that the Gaslight Grill in the O Hare Hilton not only has good food they have some of the best dressed waitresses around. If you've been there you'll know what I mean but lets just say two words: Fishnet Stockings. I felt like Austin Powers baby.
