hey Stephon, you're in the business- what is it about a director like Lumet- you know a guy that consistantly makes great movies? Some guys just have it, is all I can figure

Saw it at the theatre...incredible acting and the pace of the movie kept me in it.

I was surprised no Oscar nods went out for Ethan or Seymour-Hoffman.

Am I the only one who can no longer quote a post? I click on it, but the post I'm trying to quote isn't there.

Anyway, Dean I don't pretend to have the answer to your question. From my POV I think Mr. Lumet just "gets it" in the "cinematic" sense. Great script, great cast, great director. I really liked the film and am surprised it didn't get more attention.

The vast majority of movie goers want to see the big names first and a great cinematic experience falls somewhere behind that. Frankly, we're lucky to even see a film like that because they do not make any real money. As much as I love working in the business I'm suprised at what people will actually pay to see. I probably see 40-50 films a year, but I pay for just a handful of them. With that said, I'd gladly appear in more of the very average TV/Film that comes out every year. At minimum it has always been a good time working with good people in my experiences.

One of the best productions I've ever seen on TV is HBO's "The Wire". Incredible on many levels.
