I had a car like this in my youth,,, except mine was blue, 66 Chevelle ,, 396 ,, 4brl carb,,
dual exhaust, with a 4 speed ,,, was fast as hell straight line,,, after i had my 2nd kid ,, we needed the $ ,, so i sold it,,, major bummer ,have looked at a few recently but 10k-25k is more than i want to pay, one the reasons i wont do a car restore is because of your bottom pic, lol good luck on your restore.

Motor is done. Forged pistons, mild head porting, Lunati Voodoo cam. Will run stock wheels until everything else is done then don't know what i want to do yet. Glass is all good.

We've had this car in the family since 76 but Dad sold it to a friend who wasn't able to pay but parked it in his barn for 4 years.

Seen one is a neighbor's garage, orange and black. Growing up in Houston neighbor had a Super Bee and his friend had the Cuda with Heckle and Jeckle painted on the hood. Will never forget that car.

As far as the color of mine not real crazy about it especially with a saddle color interior. Think I'll go white or black on the upholstery at least.

My mother's car that I drove at 16 was a 71 Mach 1 351 Cleveland. Still have a hankering for Mustangs, especially the Boss's.

In this color especially. Ours was the same color gold as the Gone in 60 seconds original. Took that car to see the movie at the Galleria in Houston. Parked in the ungerground parking lot and when the movie let out and we headed for the car the other movie goers started clapping upon seeing our car.. Of course I had to do the obligatory burnout and spin. Headed up the ramp to the exit to the street and almost took out 2 cars crossing in front of the exit....Evil
16 year old brains!

How do you like those blind spots? Couldn't see anything at your quarter panel.

I had a 77 Trans Am in white. Handled 10x better than the Mustang but by the emission controls had strangled that 400 cu in engine down to like 200 hp. The Cleveland engine in the Mustang was an honest 300-310. Actually raced a 71 Mustang with my Trans Am and he waxed me.

I had a 68 Formula S, 340 totally loaded. I haven't seen very many out there, usually missing 1 small item that mine had. Stuff that's out there is junk for $5000. There is a guy out here trying to get $35,000 for one that is close to perfect and it still is missing the remote mirrors mine had. Anyway, dumbass of the century, I sold it for $600 to buy a new 78 Toyota pick-up.

About 5 years ago I started a 57 Chevy PU. Bought a 70 Camero to get the front clip out of it and had a guy graft it on. Had it about 80% restored and lost interest so I sold it for $9000. That truck would have been tits when it was complete. Here is a pic of one that is complete.

Ahh young grasshopper. You must learn your Studebakers. The Avanti was a fiberglass body car. I believe one of the, if not the first American car to have front disc brakes. It was the car that was suppose to save Studebaker designed by the famous industrial designer Raymond Loewy. Johnny Carson, Steve McQueen and other notables owned one. However, their were multiple problems that had to be sorted out on the fiberglass body production slowing the assembly to the point they couldn't meed the demand. Bye Bye Studebaker.

The engine currently in this car is pushing close to 400hp with the supercharger. It's a little overcammed so hard to drive in traffic. Custom built cam and highly ported heads. Dad has 3 other engines for this car including the stocker. He's got so many spare parts he could probably build another if he had a frame and body.

After Studebaker shut down and various entities bought the tooling to remake what is known as the Avanti II the new owners sourced their engines from Chevrolet. My parents also own an 84 Avanti II as well which has a 305 Chevy HO. Ignition is from Chrysler with Chrysler keys. It became a Frankenstein.

This is the most recent version in a convertible.

Nothing too fancy or mean, but it works. Fun summer cruiser that I don't have to worry too much about.

My Kawi 450 looks pretty good in back of my 1975 B200 4X4 3/4 ton longbed International Harvester with 68,000 miles . Its the last year they made pickup trucks . "COGZILA" has a 392 c.i , 750 Holly , Elec Ign , super comp cam , supercomp tuned creamic coated headers , Flowmaster exhaust , 8 inch lift ,37 inch Goodyear Wranglers . The body and paint job alone are worth more than the truck . The old lady has an 85 Vette with 75,000 miles all stock that will eventually be a classic , still fun to drive though . Click on my avatar for more pics of the truck .

IH trucks always looked tough. Seen one around me that is kind of a pastel green from that era.
