I run about 35-40 miles a week. Actually training for Moto and a half marathon I’m doing next month. I’ll be 48 on Nov 4th. I never “loved” running until I got shot through the knee with an AK-47 over in Iraq. Many soldiers wish they could run, but can’t do to loss of limbs. I started running again because I could and fell in love with it.

I love racing now. Most the guys in the Vet class drop anchor after 2-3 laps and I’m not even breaking a sweat yet. It’s a good feeling being on the line knowing your fit. These are my last two runs.

At 60 I still run 3-5 miles once a week if its not a Millville weekend race and a 5k once in a while.

In my much younger days (20's) ran 6 - 26.2 mile marathons and many shorter distance events.
Marathon PR of 2:49, that's better than 6:30 per mile for 26.2 miles.
How do you even train for that.
Run, recover, run lots of 10 mile runs at speed plus long slower 20-30 miles once in while. 50-75 miles per week.

Hope for good conditions on marathon day, cool (50's) tailwind, and that you feel good, my 6 marathons averaged below 3 hours.

I could do a 10K (6.2 miles) at 5:15 per mile, wish I could run more now but at 60 once a week at 8:50 per mile is it.
