Jesus Christ can we get a break here or what? Flooding (massive, 500 year floods, even though it has only been 15 years since this happened last!), & Tornados are out of control!
This was in 1993, before it got worse and it looks like we're heading there again! (Iowa Cubs (AAA) Home field)

Two 100 years floods in the last 10 years. Not so good.
Stay dry, and tell your pops I said hi.
The Army Corps of Engineers say the floods of 2008 will surpass the historic flood levels of 1993. The latest forecast for the Des Moines River shows it will reach its highest level ever this Sunday at Second Avenue near the Birdland neighborhood.
The Corps says the Des Moines River will crest on Sunday, but that will be preceded by a peak flow on Saturday. The news is still good on the Raccoon River, officials say the river won't reach 1993 levels and Des Moines Water Works, the city's water supply, won't be affected.
in 1993 the whole city had no water for 12 days due to the water treatment plant being under water!
I've been telling people since April that this year is looking a lot like 1993.
The Shop
Here is the mile long bridge over Saylorville lake north of Des Moines. This is the Lake/Dam that holds all the flow through DM, but it could not hold any more! The bridge is normally 20-25 feet above the water!
Our lakes are 40 feet above their normal pool right now...
Is your house ok????? What about the shop?????
You're only about five hour's away, I'll cruise over if you need any help sand baggin' or moving.. Just give a shout out!!!!
Thanks for the offer though!
The town I work in was mostly closed due to flooding. Vernon county, where I live had somewhere above 100 roads closed due to collapse, wash outs, or dams near breach.
This article mentions Brian Jones. He is the husband of a lady I work with and sit next to. If you can find pictures of Viola, Wis, that is where she lives and we both work about 7 miles away:

I am so ready for a dry spell of 2 weeks.
My moms birthplace in Iowa (Parkersburg) was just about blown off the map a week or so ago in a tornado. And I guess they now have the water problems on top of that.
Farmers are losing huge amounts of crops because of it. That'll really impact food costs.
Iowa produces 25% of the worlds corn...
all kiddin aside...i feel for ya man. hang in there
Pit Row
