Hi KMC, not sure where your from but it is very do able financially if your flight isn’t too much..affordable tickets,rental cars, you can find rooms pretty cheap. I come in Friday and leave Monday

Practice pit stop. I was the re-fueller. This is actually the 2nd place car. I did all the fuel stops on the winning car + 1 on this car when the regular guy had to change a brake disk in the middle of the night.

My brother in law won the GTLM class last year and will be driving the No.67 Ford GT, wrapped in special 50th anniversary Castrol livery this year. They've been hit with a pretty hefty BoP penalty thanks to last years success though...

That looks great. When the TWR Jaguar team went from those iconic Castrol colors to Bud Light in 1991, it was definitely not as cool.

Wow, that’s pretty cool, your brother in law is one of the best sports car drivers in the world.is it Westbrook in the 67..I believe he is British?.. heck, those fords are more like a prototype than a get car..I can’t wait to get down there and smell the race gas and see and hear those cars!

That’s awesome man! That must have been great. I have heard that those jags were awesome sounding. I like the Castrol livery too, it was on my favorite car when they won GT. The #70 Speedsource Mazda 3 rotor, I have a nice signed poster in the man cave of the car and winning drivers.

Yeah, it was my first time there on a team, and the first time over the pit wall, too.

Should have quit while I was ahead. Been back a few times since, finished 3rd in 2007 and 4th in 2008 and 2009, which was my last year on a team (SunTrust Wayne Taylor Racing) I was with Riley when they won in 2005, but I wasn't on the team, just a factory parts guy.

I'm with Dallara now, so we build the Cadillacs. I don't go to races anymore, but it is great to watch 'our guys' compete for the wins.

Wow I am envious of you guys! Been into auto racing since the early 60’s when as a kid I was able to watch the worlds best at RIR which was a few miles from my childhood home. To be part of a pit crew (or even associated with a team in some way) was a dream of mine. Can’t wait for the 2019 season to get underway

It was a dream for me, too. I was working as a parts manager at a Honda shop in Ohio, and On Track magazine (remember that one?) ran an ad for a parts guy for the TWR Jaguar racing team that was based in Indiana. I answered the ad, and they called me for an interview. The team manager was a big motorcycle owner/enthusiast, and when I went for the interview, we talked about bikes, and then he told me how disorganized most race teams parts depts were, and if I could run their parts department like a dealership's, it would be a step forward. That's how I got into the professional motorsports biz in 1989, and have been in it ever since. I've been lucky enough to go into it with a top team, and stay in it with top teams and manufacturers all the way through. Been to just about every road course and 'roval' in the US, plus tracks in Australia, Rio, Japan, England, and Germany. It's been a good 30 years, and beats having to work a 'real job'

There will be multiple in car stream.s on YouTube,Ford had great setup last year ,BMW always in DM series so hopefully here,Alex wi l have one for sure.

I like the car views at nite,Daytona is fairly lit though they don't NASCAR lite it.

Ford slow, don't think they are sandbagging either,Porsche needs a BOP adjustment.

The DPI s are fast,New track recotd, closing rate will be crazy,hope they got in car streams for nite time ,watch all the close calls

Cold day at the track today but a great race..looking forward to the 24 tomorrow, hope Mazda finally has some good luck

I was with him last weekend at my nieces 4th birthday party and he said the cars had been stripped of a lot of power. Staying in contention will be key for them and then I guess it's a case of seeing how the cards fall over the final few laps.

It's a bit of a lottery at the end of the day, as Im sure indy_maico can attest to.
