I have a pretty tough girl, but honestly I wouldn't like her chances. This was the view from about a five minute walk from my in-laws place up by Bellingham, WA where I have been spending Christmas.

That's awesome, I think the most eagles I have ever seen in one spot was up near Deming along the Nooksak River; way back when... CoolCool

That's the place. The river is across the street from their house. I have seen many eagles here over the years but my wife said yesterday was the most she has ever seen. In a bout 15 minutes we saw probably 10 birds snatch fish out of the river.

Nice. I look forward to getting back up there someday.
We actually saw a single very large Bald Eagle in a tree near Lake Walcott on the Snake today; we had our dogs out playing in the snow Cool Took a picture with my iphone but it just looks like a black blob from full zoom at that distance. lol

That's an amazing spot.....
We have a good size population here on the lower CT river and I have seen a bunch from my kayak but nothing like those numbers.

And yeah those big birds can work some nasty slashes into an animal with those talons.
If that's a nesting area my money would be on the birds as well.

Where I live we are right on the eastern north/south migration flyway. There's one river I fish for Coho salmon and Steelhead that the eagles spend a lot of time fishing at on their migration south. On a full day of fishing you will literally see eagles in the hundreds. Very cool.
