Congratulations !!!
I am worried about my dogs. My Rufus took a sniff. And was like...ok. Human. I think. And went about his business. Kicks his normal routine. Lounges around the house per usual. Not much different than without the baby. Not any different actually.
My other pooch zeezee: however, is infatuated with the baby. She was a rescue and is truly a wonderful, fissile and loyal dog. But she Whines constantly when the baby whines. Now some might think this is cute. But I don’t. Because the only time Zeezee whines is when I’m killing ground hogs, ducks or small game and are retrieving them. She’s over interested in the baby. I’m slowly introducing but not sure how to go about it. So much so that my zeezee has altered her routine. She doesn’t want to go outside and do her normal property perimeter checks. She hangs out by the door. And lays down under my chair if I’m holding the baby and if my wife is feeding she tries to get as close as possible (on the ground). I’m worried she’s confusing this baby with game or a ground hog and doesn’t yet understand she’s part of the pack as a master human......
Any of you guys dealt with pooch introduction before ? I don’t want zeezee to hurt my baby. I’m scared she might because she tried killing Rufus when he was a puppy. And she was sneaky about it. She’s incredibly smart and cunning and I have been watching her like a hawk.
So it’s wierd because their routine is to sleep on our floor. I’m gonna piss them off by keeping them kenneled at night.

Think about plowboy’s story, he is actually lucky to be alive.
Do you allow the dogs to get up on your couch or on your bed? If not, make sure they see the baby on the bed and on the couch.
Do you eat first, then feed your dogs after you eat dinner? Make sure the baby gets fed first too.
It's little things like that you need to do; basically just drive home the fact that you are #1, wife is #2 and the baby is #3. The dogs are #15 and #16.
Talk to a real dog trainer; they may have some better insights.
My dogs were completely fine with the baby but they are very gentle. We do use a radio controlled beep/shock collar (only have to shock once then beeps work after that) on the younger one who is still a bit excitable.
They’re gonna be real confused when we move in two weeks.
We did exactly what you are doing just eased them into being friends so I think you're on the right path. They'll be besties before you know it!
