That guy was amazing. 5 years from the start/finish of his career and his music lives on to this day.

Yep amazing talent that luved to live life pushing the envelope.

One of my favorite all time bands was the Doors and they use to be the House band at the infamous Whiskey a Go Go on the Sunset Strip!

Gone way to soon and here's a weird fact.
Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison all died at the age of 27.....😢

In 2010 I went to his grave in the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris when I was in Europe to go shoot photos at the Lommel GP

He went to Sandia HS, in Albuquerque. Where his fascination with Native Americans came from. His Dad was an Admiral!

I liked the direction they were heading, into a down and dirty blues rock band, on their last album . Great vocals, and slide guitar by Robbie https://youtu.be/Mgw5j9h8528

LA woman is a masterpiece. The Classic album docu series on it is great. They were really focused and able to do what they wanted. I believe they produced it themselves

With all due respect to Jim Morrison and the Doors, whom I love, America's greatest poet is Mr. Bob Dylan.

Dylan is great, but too straight forward IMHO. Jim takes you on a journey, to places you never kew existed.

He may be a poet, but a singer he isn’t. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Only one I can think that I despise the sound of their voice more, is Reba McInwhiner.

The Doors are a different for sure. jazzy, swing style, Very American. Where the bands you mentioned are British or in Hendrix's case, he was part of the British scene. All great, except Jethro Tull isn't my cup of tea. All top notch musicians, too bad those no longer exist.

Agreed. I didn't say he was a good singer. Cool
