Seriously I don't know why it's so difficult to have a live race. I mean shit there is like so many sports channels now. I think what it tells me is that sx isn't as popular as we may think.

You big green meanie. You just sent a lot of snowflakes to their therapists.

Well, it's 2017. You old guys didn't have internet back "in your day". Get with the times and stop living in the past. Imagine your favorite team in the Super Bowl and that being tape delayed by 3 hours. It wouldn't be the same watching it because you would already know who won the game. We're in the age of social media and internet, all sports should be live. I hate having to stay off vital and twitter so the race doesn't get spoiled. Also, this whole, "back in my day, we had to wait months for cycle news, and call on the phone for results" is all cool and all, but too bad it's not 1976 anymore. It's 2017 and I actually like the excitement live sports brings. It adds a whole different level of immersion because It's as close as to being there as it gets and I can't just go to vital and find results, I have to actually watch it and it's much more exciting to me. I'm sure a lot of people agree with me, and a lot of people want to bring up how it was "back in '76"

It actually works for me because I work Saturdays and I have DVR. I can easily not be informed of the results as I have a life outside Vital and social media. I know for some it is hard to stay off of social media and Vital.
Plus it is only a handful of races that are tape delayed.

Yes, It's live sports, and it's something that everyone can relate to. Don't read to deeply into everything, it's just a simple comparison to show that being live vs not being live is a pretty big deal when it comes to sports

As a fan – I'd prefer for it to be live.

It's nice to follow along the bench racing as the race is actually happening.

What are the chances that the NASCAR race or whatever it is ends on time? Doesn't that shit always run over time wise?

It gets exiting reading the bench racing. Every now and then something explodes.

Just an example..... Nooooooooooo!!! Mookie!!!

I agree, boofuckinhoo. It's a little annoying, but you're gonna get to watch it so quit crying. I wish I had a nickel for every time someone on Vital complained about TV coverage in some way shape or form. I'd be a rich man, I tell you what.

Hell, I'd take the tape delay for 7pm PST start over the live mid day coverage of the outdoors anyway. 7pm is a great time to get the Bros together, shotgun some beers, and have a good time. Noon? Not so much.

Big fucking deal it's tape delayed 3 whole hours. Go work on the bike or the ol lady for a bit, stay off the interweb and boom the race is on. Vital crying at its finest

I find it ironic that practice is streamed live without fail. Yet the actual race somehow gets lost in the shuffle. It is nothing more than bean counters and marketing "gurus" pulling the strings. I guess it actually is more important to "win practice".

Since the races are east coast now, it would be nice to be able to get to bed before 1:00am.

It really is "too bad it isn't 1976 anymore"! Given a time machine and a choice between now and then, I'm out of here.

Go here and click on the first link I posted. You'll see some interesting numbers concerning SX and its viewership. You might be surprised. More specifically page 8 of the link. You'll see that SX seems to be pretty popular if you ask me.

A couple of rounds are time delayed this year according to the TV schedule http://www.supercrosslive.com/TV

I think the coverage is worse than last year to be honest. As an east coast guy I hate the fact that the Toronto round will start at 10pm when it should actually be done by that time. There's absolutely no reason for it to start that late.
2/18/2017 11:37am
It's just an hour or two delayed. If it were delayed a day or the first broadcast was at 3am I could understand it but come on....

When the cycle news east showed up on Friday instead of the usual thursday, life went on..... and I certainly didn't get to bitch at the mailman.

No shit.

Now, if Monster Trucks were delayed, that'd be another matter altogether.

You guys can't be complaining about this! For real! I remember back in 1985 I had to adjust my rabbit ears just to get the race a month later! Ungrateful bastards!

When I was a kid we didn't have the interwebs to complain on. You had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to tell me my opinion was "gay".

SX is not as popular as we would like it to be. If it were getting great ratings there would be no issues with it being broadcasted live.

Take a look at the first link I posted in this thread http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Interesting-Numbers,13135… but more specifically page 8. You might be surprised at how many people actually watch SX. To be honest I wasn't expecting those numbers. According to those numbers SX seems to be pretty popular.
