The Supercross LIVE! audio webcast will no longer be offered this season. In addition the previously announced audio webcast of the Anaheim 1 pre-race press conference will no longer be aired, but instead video clips from the pre-race press conference will be available at www.SupercrossOnline.com following the press conference on Friday.
saturday nights will never be the same. how do we follow our sport now??

what sucks is that they just dropped this bomb on the guys this week! The sound engineer, who depends on the cash and turned down jobs because he was comitted is stressing. Pretty brutal move and even more brutal the way they handled it.
ken....i'm on the operating table on tuesday for some maintnance so i can't make it. i'm shooting for a3 or san diego!! really shitty!
But I never understood why people would listen so intently to the webcast, when the race airs on TV the following afternoon. You actually get to see it, and if you didn't spoil yourself by going on the net, you don't know the outcome. Personally I really enjoy spending my Saturday night doing something else than huddled around a computer, and then catching the race ON TV the next day.
Hammertime is right, it's a step backward for the sport.
To each his own, but if that many people were truly tuned into the thing it probably wouldn't be gone.
big step backward imo

It has come to my attention that you have chosen to discontinue the live web broadcast of AMA Pro Supercross for the 2009 season.
In my opinion, this may not be the wisest choice.
The live webcast serves as a promotional opportunity for your Supercross property and your sponsors. It gains and keeps interest in your Supercross events which is important in selling tickets and sponsorships, especially during the latter parts of the season.
Hundreds of thousands of fans and participants throughout the US and the World are not able to attend every event and this is the only way to have immediate live results. Cutting off those fans, your customers, from the very sport where you depend on their interest and attendance does not seem to be a wise business decision as well as it hurts your participants and teams, as well as sponsors, because you have now reduced their exposure and sponsor impressions.
In these tough economic times, making things more difficult and reducing exposure for sponsors and teams is not a prudent business decision, especially during your first year as the caretakers and promoters of AMA Pro Supercross.
I hope you will reconsider your decision to eliminate the webcast of AMA Pro Supercross, at least until the point where you have live television for every event.

Also, the Lites class is not aired for several days. We will only be able to go to Phx this year. Gramps is just to sick to travel now so we were counting on, at least, being able to catch the Lites webcast live. This really hurts us....
