Herlings did it when it was dry not in a mudfest ... And the Dutch Championship is like the American Nationals just a National Championship... with some European Championship and GP riders in it ...

Lapping everyone in the sand? Sounds like everyone else needs to step up their game.
Nice link - Thanks for sharing that.

I dont think its the other guys speed, its Herlings superior sand riding skills, he left Roczen at Valkenswarrd, fell got up and still won going away.

And at any of the sand tracks like Lommel , and who knows Maybe Brazil will be sandy, but at every one of the the softer tracks Herlings is the guy to beat, in the MX2 class.

Not sure but ill go with a 2/2 at the USGP for Herlings, this depends on how Musquin andx Searle ride at that race.

Sand isnt easy - but lapping everyone. That says something about the competition. Or their lack of. Wish I could ride that strong again.

Clearly they weren't THE BEST RIDERS IN THE WORLD in mud.

There was a 125 in the top ten for the couple laps I watched of the first moto. The comp can't be too stiff, but Herlings is flying, no doubt.

This Herlings guy must be really fast.

He races Roczen and falls, gets up and still wins.

Roczen races US west coast, falls and wins by over 10 seconds.

Those West Coast supercross guys must be really slow compared to the flying dutchman.

Whats a dutch championship?
It is similar to a Dutch Rudder, but you need to be on a bike at the time.

Watching RC in the mud at the 1998 MXdN was one of the lamest rides he's ever done!

That video reminds me of Dowd at Southwick.........the way he keeps rolling in the turns and barely slows down.....and his wide sweeping lines. Pretty impressive.

On paper, maybe. It was more an example of line choice combined with talent than just extreme badassness. Bubba and Reed both gave him a lap stuck, up to their number plates in an uphill rut.

As for Herlings, isn't his feat more similar to lapping the field at Southwick duriing an NESC race?

THE BEST RIDERS IN THE WORLD Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing that's clearly why they all got lapped

The last time Carmichael raced Euros in the mud he got lapped Blush and he was a lot older than young Jeffrey is now. Come to think of it the next MXdN he raced he got lapped too and it wasn't even muddy - woops Blush Laughing

As you were
