I thought this would be interesting, i want to see how many guys are gonna say they liked a 10+ year old bike even after being exposed to all the mew technology. If you have a tie or want to include more than 1 bike in either

Ill start -

my favorite = toss up between a 2010 yz250f and a 07 yz450f. What made me love both bikes was the handling. Esp the 250... that things was on rails and despite being underpowered i could hold it wide open with absolute confidence, it was like the bike was velcro'd to the ground. If they kept that same bike and made it efi and e start i would kill for it. I hear not so good things about the 14+ yz250f.

Worst = 1997 ktm 360exc or my 08 250sxf. The 250 had the worst suspension of any bike.

Best - my '04 CR250, ran like a top and definitely looked the best.

Worst - '02 KTM SX400, heavy and underpowered, cost a ton of money to fix at the time too.

Worst? Probably my 97 cr250. Also rode a friends cannondale that was pretty bad.
Best? My 2008 crf450r never gave me problems. Wish I kept it tbh.

Worst bike I rode 2006 KTM 250 SXF. Good motor. VERY nasty handling machine. Can you say huckabuck?

Best was probably a 1987 CR125 I had. I got a procircuit pipe from Dean Matson's mechanic and got a used ported cylinder off one of Ricky Ryan's race bikes. The suspension was done too... That bike had great low end for a 125 and was easy to go fast on. Sold it to Cole Marshall's dad who bought it for Cole. Cole went on to win a bunch of D36 off road races in multiple classes.

Best.... In all my years in this sport, no bike has ever made me feel invincible like the 1983 KX 80. With modern suspension, braking, that fucker would be competitive to this day. It's the stuff off legend.... My 1989 Suzuki RM 80's weren't very far behind either btw....
Worst....1997 CR 250. Only bike I ever rode that made my bones and muscles hurt without crashing. No give, no flex, all abrupt chassis shock came right back to the poor bastard riding it. Hated that damn thing to the core..... sold it to a newbie who thought the frame looked "dope". Little did he know, mass quantities of "dope" would be needed to enjoy owning it. Bought a new Suzuki and began to enjoy riding pain free again...... That fucking Honda hated human beings.

Worst Bike- 2010 CRF250 didn't own it, but rode it and it was so slow. Really twitchy also.

Best: My 1997 KX-250 was an amazing bike with a ripping motor that felt like a mini 500. Holeshot machine!

Worst: By far was an 83 YZ-490 that was only good for hill climbs, and only then, if you could find the right gear in the grim 4-speed box.

Worst - the 1980 RM125 (it made my '84 YZ490 seem kinda OK)
Best - 2007 CRF450 (but the new 350SXF is catching up!)

Best: 2014 YZ250F. Thing ripped. So much power.

Worst: 2012 YZ250F. Could not figure out the jetting. The bog almost killed me on multiple occasions.

Best: 1996 Honda CR250

Worst: 1997 Honda CR250

Weird, huh? One year made all the difference. The '96 was fast (after adding a pipe), handled great (after a bit of suspension work), and made me feel like Jeremy McGrath. I loved it!

The '97 looked amazing. It was Honda's first year with the aluminum frame that gave new meaning to the term "stiffness". It was totally unforgiving & brutal. I crashed more on that bike the first couple of times I rode it than in a whole year of riding my '96. I hated it!

Worst- 2003 Yamaha TTR-125L. Bought new as a play bike and never ran right from day 1.

Best- 2004 Honda CRF450R. Great power and fit me perfect.

Best? I'm gonna say my 13 YZ250. Thing is so much fun to ride and it's very easy to ride as well for a 250 two stroke.

Worst one is hands down my 00 YZ426. Had it for 4 years (dad bought it new) and was glad to get off it in 05 with my YZ250F. That bike was hard to start, and handled like a freight train. The suspension was at least pretty decent at soaking up the track. It just didn't want to turn.

Best - Had some pretty good 250's that I've raced over the years that are high on the list. '87 CR250, '98 KX250, '06 RM250. They all did great stuff. But, if it was the end of the moto, I'd give the nod to the KX. Loved the stable chassis and motor. Just playing around, the RM is so much fun.

Worst - '04 KX250. Good bike. It handled alright, motor was good, but could never get the forks where I liked them. I had it only about 6 months.

Best: 1999 YZ 125 & 250

Worst: well, i didn't owned the bike but i had some local support to race the cannondale in 2002. Bike was a great idea, but a piece of junk. as far as a bike I've owned, i'd say the 1997 kx 125. i raced the bike in the schoolboy class and had the case cover bust several times right above the water pump.

Best: 07 CRF250X. Flawless machine for the woods. So easy to ride fast & it didn't wear me out. It wasn't stock of course, but dang I always loved that bike. I want the 450x now.

Worst: 07 KX250F. I just couldn't ever get comfy on that bike. It felt stiff & ridged (granted it was set up for the woods). I didn't have it long. I moved on to a 2010 CRF250R which I liked a lot in woods trim!

Ive been riding yamahas since I started at 4 years age riding a pw50, been riding all kinds of 250 4 and 2 stroke and 125cc and i loved them all. Then my local dealer switched from yamaha to KTM so I followed and switched to a ktm 350 -16 and i think thats the best bike ive ridden but also the worst when it comes to the technical part for me who is a real casual sunshine rider nowadays.
Edit: I had to make the switch to kawa for the 60cc ^^

The best bike I ever had was a full-tilt '01YZ125 that I built. It had a Varner port job that made it faster than any 125 I've ever been on, bar none. I had it dialed with killer suspension and big brakes so that any disadvantage I had in the power department against 250s and 450s, (and believe me, it wasn't much... not kidding,) I more than made up for down the hills.
Worst bike was a 2004 YZ250F, which was not a bad bike for the time, but I never came to terms with the horrific starting regimen and the overall 4-strokiness of it.

Best bike: 05 CRF 450. Handled great, power for days, just a great bike.
Worst bike: 09 CRF450. Handled like crap, flame out for days, just terrible.

Honorable mention: 95 KX250 was a damn nice bike.
