What version of flash player are you using?

I believe 11,3,300,262 is the latest release for firefox.

Also I have had instances where the player became corrupt ,and I just reinstalled it and it worked fine.

Here is one, someone else having a somewhat similar problem.... http://forums.adobe.com/message/4349761
Disabling of the hardware acceleration fixed the issue for this guy.

Just grab some foil & a metal coat hanger and hook it into the back of your computer, you'll be square.

That's cool.
I wonder if the vids you described were like DivX vids....to where you also needed the Divx webplayer or windows media player plugin for firefox or chrome....
Those are the only 2 plugins I have on any of my comps that are video related other then shockwave flash.
And then silverlight for watching the first motos streaming online.

internet explorer brought it up in media player

why would they be opening up/playing in "media player"?

Are you referring to "Windows Media Player"?

That is weird ,since the script is calling to "x-shockwave-flash".

It's possible he has some default settings ,set to ,open up media in a stand alone player or some shit.

Well there is your problem, they should be playing right in the browser. Does it do the same thing in FF and Chrome? (open in media player)

download and install VLC Media Player. It's bundled with a popular codec pack and is normally able to handle whatever media I throw at it.

I think honestly you need to update your Adobe Flash. Just go to there website. That should fix it. You don't need to download any codecs, etc.

http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
Those videos call to shockwave player to play their content.
(That kawi test video)
It's a bit different then the regular adobe flash player.
If you haven't installed it ,then instal the shockwave player,I would see if that helps, cant hurt to try.
Make sure you reboot the comp after the installation.
Also as stated above, right clicking on the video and in-enabling the hardware acceleration box, might help also.
Seems there is a bug with that.
Other then that ....
If it isnt the player and isn't the browser/plugin/codec.
Then the only other thing it could be is a driver issue with your graphix/video card.
There really isn't anymore to web based streaming video then that.
Not sure what else you could trouble shoot.

Q: The difference between the Adobe Shockwave and Flash Players?

A: Shockwave Player displays content created with Adobe Director 11.5 software such as high-performance multiuser games, interactive 3D product simulations, online entertainment, and training applications. By using extensions, developers can extend the capabilities of Shockwave Player to play back custom-built applications.

Flash Player displays content created with Flash Professional CS5. This content includes web applications, website user interfaces, interactive online advertising, and rich Internet applications (RIAs) created using Flex.

I think the problem is that you posted this in the wrong forum.

your shit has been jacked at one point or another by virus's. probably been cleaned/removed and left your shit a mess. just a wild guess but i've worked on a lot of computers in my lifetime and when you start getting shit like this...9 outa 10 times some kind of virus/trojan is present or was and during removal of it your windows got jacked.

Try right-clicking on the video, select settings and disable hardware acceleration for Flash. Sometimes that will clear things up. I've run into that problem with certain videos at work.
