Sympathizes with financial plight of pro MX racer (grown man who willfully chooses a fringe hobby as a profession), but can't seem to do the same for kids on welfare (victims of shitty circumstance through no fault of their own).

And a Rider's Union will do what for kids on welfare? Is talking about the plight of the privateer really a right or left wing issue? (Some of the proposed solutions might be, but the plight is not) I can't follow the relationship you are drawing here.

Organized labor is a no-no too...until it isn't (as in Pro MX).

In SX, it's about the top few stars. The rest are extras. Same in MX, but a few more have a chance because of the nature of that part of the sport. Compare it to the movie people. It's all about the star, but they need many extras to make up a scene. They get paid nothing. There's an actors union, but if you work an hour as an extra in a movie, it doesn't cover the gas to get you there. They do it hoping they'll be discovered. Privateers do it for the same reason. SX will be a show for people to see, not participate in. And MX will be back to the grass roots as it once was, with interest from those that ride. There aren't many getting into this game as there once was.

Good comparison. Sad but true.

what made the PBR much more possible to do on their own compared to a SX series the same way is venue. the PBR can run a show in any arena, SX needs the size of big stadiums, which are basically a monopoly held booking wise by Feld/Clear Channel. same reason why pop radio stations play the same stuff over and over. its a commercial for touring acts. Clear Channel owns in the range of 70% of the english speaking pop music radio stations in major markets. over the years they have taken over the booking schedule for most stadiums other than their home sports teams events, baseball and football.

Yeah, but MX is not nascar and never will be. Nascar is not football and never will be. Sports like MX have room to grow but it will never ever ever be a NASCAR. No need to even pull numbers and compare.
Maybe SX should implement some NASCAR style rules

instead of yellow flag meaning dont jump it means track caution and the entire field follows the ttr125 pace bike until the yellow situation is cleared

heak if RV get to far out front why not a fathom caution het we saw acandy wrapper float on to the track from the upperdeck

that would keep thing really close to the end

Heard they run race gas in those semis that's imported from the north pole via a fleet of endangered polar bears. Word is they don't print the tough block covers these days. They're spun from 24 carrot gold threads that are hand sewn by Swedish virgins.

Expenses can be mighty expensive oldfart.

I'd have to disagree on the basis of the "show". We're not talking about welfare we're talking about giving those that put their life on the line for the show! Those people that fill the gates and bring spectators to the stadiums. I don't think a 10 rider field would fill the stadiums, you need ALL levels of talent! The entities that are profiting are very simply not giving the "talent" the money they deserve.

At the end of the year, if you're "in the points" you should get a check, that simple! Now if that means the money has to come from the spectators via a donation option, so be it! Unfortunately, I also believe those profiting should be forced to DO THE RIGHT THING! Via a riders union or some other collaboration.
