so had i not ridden this thing before i posted it things would have been different
im a yamaha guy ive had 06,07,08,09,12,16 yz 250 two strokes so ive done my part in trying to get yamaha to update the stupid thing
every couple years i think i need a 450 so i buy one, then i realize talent passed me buy and i dont belong on a 450
so i sold my 18 crf450 and bought this
i wasnt even excited to ride it, because i love yamahas i just wasnt giving 7000 plus dollars for the same old bike again
so the good people at Hutch Motoorsports in Raynham MA sold me this fine motorcycle
and holy crap its the best two stroke engine ive ever rode you cant even compare it to a yz 250
i cant believe how good it is

Wow that’s a great looking bike. Did they have good deal at Hutch? Any reason you didn’t go up to NH for the bike? Congrats on the new ride

Must be a 19 because of the blue frame right? Been thinking about upgrading to a 19' TX300 in the near future.

Good to hear you're enjoying it!

How do you find the suspension compared to the yz? Demo days are few and far between around me and that's the only thing holding me back from picking one up

One of these will be my next bike, upgrading from an 05 RM250 that I love dearly but the call of something that bit more modern is hard to resist.

Nice! These bikes are great... I have 30 hrs on my 18 250 SX....takes a while to get back into the 2 stroke groove, but it makes you feel alive! Not sure what the jetting is on your bike, but I"m at 37.5 pilot & 450-460 main depending on ambient temps & how deep the sand is...50/50 c12 & non ethanol. I have an FmF factory pipe with powercore silencer, 49 tooth on the rear as per MXA helps space out the shifting, but sometimes I feel in deep sand the stock gearing is better for 3rd gear. I"m sure you know, check spokes & rear axle nut frequently, I double nut the lower exhaust mount, as it comes loose even with loctite. Was thinking about replacing my top end but I took a look through the exhaust & the piston looks like new....enjoy!

Ive gotta get to a demo day, I can't wrap my noggin around how an engine can be better than a YZ250 (except maybe the counterbalance?)

Had my top end done @ 50 hours, ring gap (?) was at lower end of spec's, mechanic said it was indeed time for a top end.

Many have gaps in their reeds and replaced with aftermarket only to feel little to no change. I fell for it too. If you must change, then go Rad Valve.

I wouldnt have known about it if i hadn't bought the rad valve. I can't imagine it was helping anything though.

You are probably right and definitely wasn't picking on you, more of a general observation from other people as well as myself. Good choice on the RC2 though.
