shock oil weight in a 2004 cr250 shock

I've looked everywhere and i can't find any info. Does anyone know the weight of shock oil that comes stock with this shock? Im looking to do a fluid change and can't find any info on this.

2004 CR250 Showa shock use's SS-7 5w showa suspension fluid or 5wt. equivalent.

have you tried race tech database. when you search for spring rates it also display wear parts and oils

You need an oil with a 'high viscosity index' , means it doesn't thin out too much when it gets hot. You want an oil with an ISO (lnternational Standards Organization) weight of 11.0 (Bel Ray HVI-3) or 15.0 (Ohlins shock oil).

All oils have an ISO rating, just go to their online 'data sheet', SAE 5w type ratings are old school and not exact.

I use KYB oils in all my motorcycles and never had an issue either Showa or KYB.

thanks guys, factory connection got back to me and and they said to use 2.5 in the stock shock
