Heard property appraised in the 800K area and Rodney took a pass on it.(Don't know for sure).

Regardless, great news the place is staying open.

Just spoke to Rodney and it wasn't him. No one knows yet who bought it but I heard it was a moto Dad that bought for his kid(Rumor).

So many great memories from that place. Anyone ever been to the cave? was way on the back side of the property.

I saw some pics awhile back and hardly even recognized the place. Some good times back in the 70's and 80's.

Not much sand or hills left in the place.

What I wouldn't give to call that mine.

I'm surprised this class wasn't stacked with Kawis . In 84 at my local track about 95% of all 80's were KX 80s. They were light years ahead of everything else. Unfortunately I was one of the kids stuck on RMs.

I went to the Golden State there in Jan '89... It was like a National... Kiedrowski won the 125 class, Tyson Vohland showed Jeff Ward the fast way around the track, and Buddy Antunez was rippin the R&D RM80 and punted Clowers into the cheap seats... So sick, that place was...

This was from the 1988 Golden State nationals
Jeff Ward, Rodney Smith, Mike Fisher, Donnie Smight, and Buddy Antunez rippen on the RM80

I raced there back in 1976 on a RM 100.
Tom Anderson owned the place back then and used to do a cheesy Jackie Stewart imitation while announcing.Pretty funny.
We even did what was called rough scrambles there on Saturday nights in the oval in the top right of the picture.
Many good times and memories.

Tom was a mess lol they would be out watering the track the night before the races drunk off their asses and getting the truck stuck and flooding part of the track.

Remember "Chicken Coop Corner"?

Sounds like it might have fell through once again. NOt sure what is holding it up but is pretty shitty

Dear Riders,

In an unforeseen turn of events the recent pending sale with the mystery buyer fell through late yesterday. So, it is back to business as usual for now. I sure wish the realtor\'s spokesperson hadn\'t been so harsh when she told Phil and me we had to vacate the premises BEFORE the close of Escrow. That made no sense.

Thanks to all of you who sent best wishes for our future. We will still need the wishes...our future is more uncertain than ever!

So, for now, we will still run the flat track program (short track and TT) on Sundays from 11 am to 4 pm. The Motocross will still be Sat & Sun 10 -5 and Weds noon to dark. And ,we still teach the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) classes.

Sincerely,
Renee Anderson

Yeah, I remember you saying you and Paladino had many battles. Still cool to dig up this old pic Scottie.Be cool to see more when you can post 'em.

Seems the late Danny Nelson was a SH regular. Heck of a mini/amateur big bike rider. Seems he was younger than you and Paladino.

Ricky Lutz; Ray Crumb sure seemed mini racers around your day or close to it.

One of your patented holeshots right there Scottie. I can still picture your style from that one picture, it was perfect. I remember getting my first pro jersey there, Ricky Ryan.
