I'll try to be brief... broke my non-dominant left hand pinky finger at the very tip, furtherest joint. technically called an avulsion fracture or jersey finger. tendon tore off a tiny fragment of the bone. i had surgery 3 weeks ago and screws did not hold. leaving me back to original situation which is i can not bend the very tip of my finger because the tendon has broken off but still attached to the fragment of bone now "floating."
i got a 2nd opinion -- new surgeon said i could do nothing and not have that joint moving again. or go through another surgery, baby it for 3 mo's, hope all turns out well.
i love asking my mx community orthopedic questions cause God knows we've been through it. unlike most of our surgeons that have never broken a bone...
anyone not have movement in their pinky tip joint...?
i can follow up with some x-rays.
thanks much...!

They put two pins along side the bone on each side that extended outside the skin above the top knuckle for a month or two and bent it to what they call the "working" position.
I have about 30% movement.
It was the most painful MX recovery. It took years to not hurt.
