That's a tuff spot to be in. He will most definitely get charged with vehicular manslaughter. But shit, a lot of people including myself, would pull some kinda irrational move if we someone with our stolen stuff. Especially if its something holding a lot of value. That was probably his ONLY chance of ever seeing that bike again.
I think hitting them "head on" is a little much but I wouldn't be surprised if the news is just making the story a little more "juicy"

If they didn't steal a dirt bike, then proceed to ride in tandem up and down a public street, they might still be around.

No tears here....

Too bad those guys died but I can't blame the owner for trying. Shouldn't have done it that way obviously, but the thieves made their own bed and now so has the owner by the sound of it.

This stood out to me too. The media gets my blood boiling. Hopefully the guy can get off with a light sentence. Zero sympathy for the thieves. Two less low lifes on the street causing problems for good people.

We should start a gofundme for this guys defense. Nothing like a little vigilante justice to get the attention of these aholes.

Doing my best Ironside
Hit them head on ! Front end looks fine but the back wheel looks like it's been run over from the side .

Yeah it sucks his bike was stolen but that doesn't give him free rein to do whatever he wants or take the law into his own hands.

Bike looks pretty mangled and you can see the front bumper is busted up too so he must've hit them with some force. So even if the two guys didn't die, his bike would be pretty fucked anyway. Yeah, let's all pitch in to a gofundme for a dude that acted irrationally and killed two people over a stolen dirt bike...

Not really sympathetic for either side, to be honest.

I'll admit that I was being somewhat sarcastic about the gofundme because I don't believe in what the bikes owner did but I have almost zero sympathy for the thieves.

I wish some of these cities would set up "bait bikes" and get some of these idiots off the streets .. especially around the Atlanta SX time. It would make a good TV show on Spike.

While I agree with you in theory, in practice I do not.

Sure, I'm not going to die for my possessions. However, the thieves need to decide if it's worth risking THEIR life over. Do they really want to die for my possessions.

The way you are thinking about it is exactly why thieving criminals continue to rob and steal from people. Because they do not fear a reprisal.

Stealing from another man is wrong, regardless of what value you want to place on something. What's important to me may not be important to you. And vice versa. Whatever "possessions" you may easily be able to obtain I may have had to work my ass off to afford.

Just food for thought...

I agree he went overboard, but in my opinion, if they weren't thieves then they wouldn't be in the situation. If you die while you are breaking the law then oh well in my opinion. Shouldn't have been a shithead! If someone tries to rob a bank and gets shot while doing it, should the person who shot the robber be in prison?

I'm glad when my bike was stolen they waited a couple months for it to cool off before going for a ride. Because I was so hot that day I would have done similar I'm sure. Was happy that they didn't know how to ride so well and got stuck in a ravine. Must have sucked to walk home from down there.

Good riddance to the thieves here though. I'd give this guy my carrot cake in jail. He's gonna be a cult hero in there when he has to do time.
