That was the bike that Mike McDade rode in a 2-stroke race. Pretty bitchin I'd say! Guy Cooper would approve.

I dig it. Thing is badass. Not a fan of powder coated spokes but the bike overall is cool.

Modern RM...LOL it's a ten year old bike! And it's freaking awesome! Gotta love the 2 stroke love given to the old RM's while the new ones hardly seem to be a blip on the radar. Meanwhile, KTM = World Domination!!!!!Wink

My dad had one of those in the 90's. I remember riding it at 14-15. Was a handful for me at the time, that sure brings back memories.

I'm curious as I don't see or know how to find those number. You say KTM = World Domination, has KTM surpassed Honda in bikes sold? Have they even surpassed Yamaha? I have no idea, i'm just curious.

For someone good at finding these numbers how is the KTM 450 sales vs the CRF 450. Also KTM 250f vs CRF250?

At the time, it was a pretty excessive colour scheme, but it does look good now.

I think the RMZ are selling better over the last few years. I see more in the 450 mains. Also locally Suzuki has always had a loyal following in my neck of the woods. With District 5 now PAMX having decent contingency. I think Cernic and the Coombs helped out on that front.
Would love to see them get back to their amateur support and supporting the 250f class to

Make no mistake though got to love what KTM is doing

Whatever floats your boat. While not a fan of the look, someone did a nice job of making the newer bike look like the older one.

McDade has great style. Very similar to Windham in those pics.

As a once proud owner of the infamous 1992 Suzuki, that is insanely awesome!

I...uh....I just can't get onboard with that. Just about any year color scheme would be better, in my opinion. I remember the first time I saw the '92s when they came out, and just thinking "this has really gone too far." It wasn't just Suzuki though; YZs had freaking pink/magenta seats by then and the KX's weren't much better with pink and purple and green. A truly sad era for cosmetics.

But I do think it's cool somebody took the time to make it, and appreciate their attention to detail!!

Spokes are acid washed Bulldog spokes Keith @ksrwheels.net laced them up. Thanks for the compliments people a lot of man hours went into the bike to get it right. Smilewww.instagram.com/tractionmx

LOL I know right. And now my hazy memory starts to bring up the look I had on the YZ I was riding back then... with hot pink shroud graphics and a white seat with hot pink pin stripes on it...maybe I was being a little too hard on Suzuki haha!!

Give it 15 years and guys will be restoring RMZs like they're restoring RMs now. It's a nostalgia thing. In most cases it has very little to do with the quality of the bike.

Great Job but not my cup of tea. I'm a diehard Suzuki guy most RMs of the 80s and 90s are Butt Ugly. I had to go way back and have the best 2 looking ones of all time. The 77B and 82Z. I just finished the 77 and the 82 will be finished in a week or two.

I remember when this line of RMs came out..went to the zook dealer as they were throwing in two free top end kits with a bike purchase. Sadly it looked like it had contracted some rare disease. Didn't want to catch whatever it had so I passed on riding yellow that year.

Whoa!
now that is impressive although your name should be RMweldon.

Rebuiding bikes in the living room classic!

when I got married the soon to be wife didn't really think a pool table in the living room was a great idea so I got a bigger house with a basement that is now the Man cave.

now she's gone but that's okay I kept the house and all is cool but there's no way in hell you could possibly be married with that living room furniture! Woohoo

I dig it. Smile

Oh and to the OP, cool bike
