I'm getting quoted $6600 OTD on the '18kx and $7600 on the '18 yz in MD. I also found a 17 kawi for $6350. Anyone been quoted lower on a '18 yz250f in the Delmarva or PA area?

Mostly leaning towards the yamaha for the spring forks, but a grand cheaper for a kawi is hard to pass up.

Hit up romneys cycles and Pete's cycles also try tri county in wv. Have seen the kxs for around 59 out the door.

I got a left over husky 350 for 75 otd in wv. Thats less than many pay for 250fs otd. Unreal the deals out there. Its a haul but whatever its worth it for those numbers.

I got my 2017 kx250f last july for $6200.00 OTD. FYI the kawi has SSF spring fork on it. Not as good as the kyb on the yamaha but it can be dialed in decently.

Beginning of Feb. Delmarva Powersports quoted me $7030 OTD if you count the blucru rebate. 2018 Yz250f. He said they had great deals on kawis.

I thought the SFF forks were air in one fork? is no air pressure involved?

No air pressure involved. One side is spring other side is dampening. Uses a massive spring on one side twice as stiff as usual since only one spring.

Sff air is air fork
Sff is spring fork

SFF = seperate function fork. This means damping is controlled solely on the left fork and a single traditional, yet stiffer than normal spring is housed on the right side fork.

SFF Air is similar with damping on the left fork, but the right side fork leg houses a combination of air chambers that make up an air spring.

Kx250f comes equipped with SFF spring forks while the kx450f comes with SFF air TAC fork.

Wow I assumed the 450 and 250 had the same sff forks. We all know what happens when you assume....

I'm a pretty novice rider would I notice that much of a difference between the kawi and yamaha in comfort/overall reliability? $1000 is a lot of money but if the yamaha is really that much of a better bike i feel like it is probably worth it, since this will be the last bike i buy for a long time.

If you weigh like 150-180 the yz will be magic right out of the box suspension wise.

The kx isnt magic out of the box regardless of size but you can have it set up pretty well.

If it were me id be looking ktm/husky first yamaha second and Honda 3rd. Kawi would honestly be last on my line up. Id get the rmz for a steal and set it up before the kawi.

Why? The money you would have to put into the Rmz to make it up to par with the Kawi on power you might as well get the kawi, and typically you can find them for the same prices. I would like an rmz 250 but at 175lb and 6”3 the kx250f suits me better.

To me the power isnt a big deal. The kawi quality to me doesnt do it and i dont gel with their chassis. To me the handling of the rmz is worth it over the kawi.

Notice they also were both not my first second or third choices also lol. And ive seen brand new rmz250s for 5k out the door over the last year

Understandable, tbh if I found one for 5-5.5k OTD I’d get it. Hell of a price these days Cool

Mostly leaning towards the yamaha for the spring forks, but a grand cheaper for a kawi is hard to pass up.
Are you're not a PA resident when I was stationed in Jersey I always drove 5 hours to Ebensburg Yamaha, Sean would get me $150 over invoice on a new bike every year. He's willing to deal to boost his overall sales numbers over messing with nickels and dimes over a single unit. I know the price has increased and less blucru credit but I got my 16 YZ250F new in November of 15 for $6400 OTD. Maybe check them out.

No Scott at Ebensburg, used to be Sean, but he left to start his own dealership. Ask for Shane at Ebensburg. Also check Fivestar, Hillview, Unlimited Cycle and Cernics. All these dealers are within about a 50 mile radius and will have some of the best prices in the nation.

So taking someone else's advice on here, I just got a '17 KX250f for 4999 from power.
https://www.poweryamaha.com/--xNewInventory#page=xNewInventory&sq=kx250f

This doesnt exactly answer your question seeing how the bike is 3k miles from you on the opposite coast... but I paid $355 for a hauler on UShip to deliver it to me in Illinois. Not sure what rates would be for you. I was extremely happy with the dealer. Sent them Money on Friday, had the bike by Tuesday for $5354 when it was all over with. I've also had bikes shipped from Babbitts with good luck.
