No. Ride a 250 2stroke for a while, then the slower 450 will be a peice of cake.

No chit. A 155 pounder on a 250 is perfect. If you can hang on to the bike. You will be like a flag blowing in storm.

But stay away from the 2-stroke fumes...Ya' know, so when you give poor advice you can spell "piece" of cake ?!

Actually...You will probably go faster on a 250 (4-stroke of course) save money and put a big bore kit on your 250

I must be on the wrong bike then, I am 6', 145lb, and don't have any trouble hanging onto a 450. Tongue

Motorcycles have this thing called a throttle. If you want more power you twist it, if you want less you don't twist it as much.

So to answer your question: NO.

The guy who builds the CR500AF weighs about 150 and he goes really fast on a 500cc two stroke. For that matter, RC is about 5'7" and about 155 or so and he did pretty good on a 450.

I remember Magoo Chandler racing a KTM 495 when he couldn't touch the ground. The story was that his dad put blocks of wood on each side of the bike at the gate because he couldn't start without them.

In a nutshell, no. 450s do not put out as much power or torque as a 20 year old CR500, even with fuel injection. Anything less than a stock 500 is not powerful enough. As for touching the ground, if my weight didn't push the suspension down, I couldn't touch the ground on an 80.

Put an RPM ice cube 302 kit on your 250f and enjoy the best handling, power to weight ratio available.

You can thank me by letting me borrow it when I sandbag the vet c class at Washougal this summer, so I can get better starts.

I'd say it depends more on your ability than your size.
