Husqvarna, there isn't a production rule there. So no need to do a white KTM per say... Although it's still a grey area considering the frame, swingarm, engine etc are all KTM. Laughing

different subframe, different tank
Jason Anderson gets to ride a works bike of sorts here next year. First year exemption rules apply.

What is this first year exemption rule you speak of? (Serious question)

If I am correct the Husky's have gotten the Base KTM builds, and will from now on evolve on their own. So next model should have some differences with the KTM's (other than plastic/subframe)

Maybe Kawasaki should give Husky Villopotto's ride and get much better results then Metty would get ?

Husky had a solid 250 engine, and great components, brembo, domino,.you just cant get good r&d if no r is going on.

You og,s know how I loves me a husky.

They guys running them are always around top 5 ,one of them lost a podium on the last lap in 2 races in a row,may have been 3.

I turn up my jar and toast a great return to racing for a historic brand.

When the rules were changed in the late '90's the AMA allowed each manufacturer a one year exemption to the production rules, which basically permitted full works bikes.

All the current OEM's used theirs years ago. Husky is a new OEM so they can use the works rule, which I reckon is a very sneaky way for KTM to have a second crack at it.

KTM engine...

I thought this husky looked interesting... KTM shrouds. Only thing I can think of is the aftermarket tank they wanted wasn't available for husky yet so they put a KTM one on there, hence the shrouds.

Basically, a KTM with Husaberg plastics...
its a KTM, with KTM plastics. Husabergs were designed and manufactured by KTM, in Austria, since 2003. That makes them KTM's by any standard.

the Husqvarnas are 100% KTM.

you are exactly right. IMS told me they are not even working on a tank for these models because they will be different next year and they don't want to tool up for them. apparently there aren't even enough Husaberg's out there to justify it, which is a little surprising to me, and considering KTM/Husaberg/Husqvarna Factory Racing's working relationship with IMS, you think they'd just mold one up.

It's a "whatsky" - a cross-dressing, transitioning KTM that will be protested and DQed.

This will lead to a 67 page thread on Vital with many pleasantries exchanged.

Eventually, a legal battle will ensue to determine which classes it is allowed to race in.

I think Kawasaki still has to use their works exemption as well. I don't know what they are saving it for but they didn't use it for a new 450 like everybody else.
