I can't imagine doing 60 mph on that chassis. Scary for sure.

I have a little 50cc italian scooter that I modified and it’s a 70cc now. Goes 60 instead of the stock 35mph and I assure you it is not safe!!

Are you thinking of the later years? The 97 was the last HPP motor as I recall. One of the best 125 engines made...

98-99 were HPP as well. Not as much shrieking top end as the earlier years, but were still pretty good engines.

Man I bought a brand new 97 and it was junk that thing ate through rings, pistons and cylinders like it was going out of style. The bottom end would go and the bearing would get sucked into the top and destroy everything. We had a 93, 97 and 00 all 3 were bad. The 00 was a little better for reliability. Switched to KTM in 2002 and never looked back way better quality.
