he needs starts really bad.maybe he should use a motor combo setup for starts only and see how it pans out in the race.

Tim has never been a consistently great starter. I don't know why. He's a great rider and an icon in the sport - but you have to wonder if maybe it's getting toward the time he needs to stop doing this. Maybe he has an injury, but he's just not riding Tim Ferry laps out there.

There comes a time when your mind just won't let you perform the same way you used to.

Mr. Ferry's a bit aged. Fantastic he can get a ride, but if he really wants a shot at winning, he should move on to WORCS or some other series as quickly as possible. If he made the jump now, he could well dominate.

You don't feel sorry for Mike Alessi?

Gets every holeshot and continues going backwards the whole race?

Him and kdub do just fine for a couple of vet riders.
One good thing about trashcar is that guys who run 5-15 get the cred they "deserve."
MX, not so much. Two 30+ guys that run top 10 no matter what in 450sx is about as bad ass as it gets.

not really, because he is an outdoor specialist.plus sx in the big bike class has a learning curve that he hasnt mastered yet.
ferry on the other hand is lacking the starts....motivational thing.does he still use a 4 speed tranny?

Hypothetically, if he would have gotten a fifth place start last night, guarenteed he would have finished at least fifth or maybe better. Ask Chad Reed how important the start is. T.F. still throws down solid laps for an entire main. I too wishes he good get a better start.

Ferry is a front runner just having an unfortunate season. How can you throw the man who saved the US at last years and arguably the year before MXDN?

TF is doing about as well or better than someone his age should be doing. He's still better than most guys his age. Also, he's a good steward of the sport.

Ferry is the real deal. He just doesn't have the starts and maybe some of the speed the other guys have. Wait till the outdoors. He will be picking people off left and right near the end of the motos. At 25 min. in is when he really shows how fit the old dog is.

I'm starting to feel like T.Ferry...... we both suck at starts and always run mid-pack.... I think i'll start running the 15 on my bike......

Didn't he finish second in the outdoor series last year to the fastest rider in the world? Sheesh...I wouldn't put him out to pasture yet!

Come outdoors Ferry is gonna put a whoopin on 85% of the field.. The longer the race the better he does, look at the pos tracks this year almost every race there breaking into the high 40 sec.. There like 17 min mains without a start your pretty screwed unless your bubba or reed.. Ferry has alot left him imo and come outdoors hes gonna show why he has a factory ride.. Remeber just 4 months ago he saved team USA at the mxdn for is ride he put in.. And I dont think hes 35 I thinks he 30 or 31 and smoked everyone besides bubba last year at the outdoors. Funny how people will write someone off so fast.

You're right about that for sure. At Freestone last year, it was pretty hot and Ferry was going faster at the end than he was at the beginning. He's a tough hombre. But there comes a time when the mind won't let the body do what it's supposed to do, no matter how hard a guy tries.

Is there money in that? What does WORCS Championship pay?

I'm a Tim Ferry fan.
He's awesome.
What's his deal this year seems the bigger
question to me.
It's not his age!
Why, cause last year by example he was killing it.
This year hasn't been this year long enough yet to
write off the last, so what's changed?
Is it him,
the bike,
the boots,
personal issues........?
Hmmmmmmm?
Kawi's not stupid, so if the bike was it, he'd be on an
'08, with the '09 looks......
Boots?
He's worn others until recently, so it's not the boots!
Him or personals, maybe so.
Maybe "Matthes" will jump in & do a story.
They're pals so, I'll wait 'til I read something, in the
meantime, I wish him well.

Some people are mentally stronger then others, Ferry is one of them, I'm willing to bet on top 5 for outdoors this year, possibly even better, and that is a damn good performance at his age, let alone any age!

Not in the last 2 series he hasnt.
If your such a fan of James then why do you turn in a sniveling bitch every time he wins?
Go read some of your posts after last nights race.....a blind man could have seen you were bitter about the win. You constantly say he is going to crash out yet he's been consistent since the start of last years mx season.
