Dungey actioned the old saying about walking down the hill and fucking all the cows. Kenny didn't jump the fence.
On a new bike, early in the season with not much race testing yet, "hey how about 2 more clicks on the rebound eh?".
It wasn't a second a lap difference, nor was it a highly unusual gap... 0.171 over a consistent guy.
Shit even Reed has blown through and won. 2014 A2, 0.156 faster than the next best (Dungey, ironically, with clear track and who darted) coming through the pack and wins. 2005 Pontiac 0.157 faster than RC, comes through and wins.
2012 Oakland, James looked ridiculous and won. Quad god. RV went 0.259 faster, came 3rd behind JS/CR. 2011 he did it again, 0.147 faster but came 4th.
2007 James (Who i'd put against anyone, ever) goes 0.879 faster than Reed who's out front and wins easily coming through the pack.
I just don't get how you could quantify it as fastest ever. Laptimes mean fuck all in the end unless you get the W.
The Shop
A1 2016, Anderson, new bike, wins, going 0.2 faster coming through than 2nd place Dungey, on a new bike. Both were 0.2 slower than 4th place Eli, coming through, on a new bike, but faster than Cole who was out front on a new bike.
Crashing happens in mx.unfortunately.
Pit Row
He was going fast. Was it the fastest ever. No. Does it matter if you don't get the W or worse take yourself out for the year? Even less so.
Eli Tomac 2015, I've watched this hundreds of times... Poetry in motion
