Best lap time?
But who cares really... I know the question is if he didn't get hurt but it's clutching to make any conclusions from at round 3 of the series, in 9 laps he went 0.171 seconds of a lap faster at least once and then fucking lawn-darted.

Dungey actioned the old saying about walking down the hill and fucking all the cows. Kenny didn't jump the fence.

0.171 faster COMING THROUGH THE PACK.
On a new bike, early in the season with not much race testing yet, "hey how about 2 more clicks on the rebound eh?".

Dungey bested him, get over it.

FOR 9 LAPS, RIGHT IN TO THE DIRT. It means nothing. How many times did James or RV – perhaps the most mercurial guys in recent memory – do that, or do that and win.

It wasn't a second a lap difference, nor was it a highly unusual gap... 0.171 over a consistent guy.

Shit even Reed has blown through and won. 2014 A2, 0.156 faster than the next best (Dungey, ironically, with clear track and who darted) coming through the pack and wins. 2005 Pontiac 0.157 faster than RC, comes through and wins.

2012 Oakland, James looked ridiculous and won. Quad god. RV went 0.259 faster, came 3rd behind JS/CR. 2011 he did it again, 0.147 faster but came 4th.

2007 James (Who i'd put against anyone, ever) goes 0.879 faster than Reed who's out front and wins easily coming through the pack.

I just don't get how you could quantify it as fastest ever. Laptimes mean fuck all in the end unless you get the W.

Coming through the pack, on a new bike. Different from having your settings and a clean track ahead.

I have a lot of wrenching to do, I can't type all night.

Maybe I am remembering incorrectly but I seem to specifically remember Kenny almost crashing using the exact same line like a lap or two before he actual did crash. Always wondered how some people called it a fluke crash after I saw that.

I mean, Reed 2014 A2 was 3rd race of the year, 1st year on a Kawi after being on a Honda.

A1 2016, Anderson, new bike, wins, going 0.2 faster coming through than 2nd place Dungey, on a new bike. Both were 0.2 slower than 4th place Eli, coming through, on a new bike, but faster than Cole who was out front on a new bike.

IF Kenny never got hurt, then none of you KR fans would have excuses for why he was still getting beat by Eli.

The summary of all this is that both guys were pushing outside their envelope of speed and had crashes that put them off the bike for a while. Now it seems that both of them want to survive to race next week and we see a more calculated method from both with moments of brilliance.

He really hasn't shown speed like that since. Go re-wacth Glen Helen 2015.

He and the bike were one, was a thing of beauty.

i guess last year at glen helen and a few other races tomac smashing the 2nd half of the moto's and having 4+ seconds a lap faster times in the end never really happened?

c'mon guys..a lot of selective memories going on in this thread. lol.
2018 Tomac still was not as Impressive as Tomac at GH in 2015 on the Honda - If you were not there then you don't know. TV did nothing to capture the ass whooping he put on the field...

Yeah, and if Eli never messed up his shoulders and back, if JS7 never took 10 too many hits to the ole noggin...........

Really?? Cause Tomac beat him straight up in 2013 and started beating him at the end of 2016 when he came back from shoulder surgery. Kenny has never shown the raw speed Tomac had in 2015.

You made a claim that others disagreed with. I've put some facts down and that's being a dick. Ok.

He was going fast. Was it the fastest ever. No. Does it matter if you don't get the W or worse take yourself out for the year? Even less so.
