husky/Osborne "near future"

I see husky still wont give us the info we need on the outdoor season..... good call by husky giving him the extension though...

"Last year Osborne announced that he’d move up to the 450 Class for Lucas Oil Pro Motocross instead of defending his title. In the announcement today, Husqvarna said he will “be aboard the FC 450 in the near future.” We’ve heard that Osborne could remain in the 250 Class this summer, but this press release doesn't confirm or deny that rumor. He will point out of 250SX after this year."

What's the burning need?

I think we're going to get a few interesting announcements after the SX season...

I understand he is still in the championship battle but aren't they going to start preparing for the outdoors soon if they haven't already? I think Husky knows but wont say...... mind games?

Mind games with who? I think they'll be ready to roll for whatever he's riding. Last summer, Martin Davalos got short notice for his 450 ride, and it worked out fine for him.

I wish Husky had kept Davalos on the 450. He was absolutely killing it towards the end of the year.

Understandable GuyB, I'm just a fan who would like to know that's all. Do you think the team still doesn't know if Zach will be on the 450 or 250 yet? Honda has said Craig is on the big bike this year so why the secrets at husky?

Given that they have to plan ahead for bikes and parts, I assume that they already have a pretty good idea.

Just thinking about it a little, they already have two solid guys in the 450 class with Wilson and Anderson. Zach's the defending 250 champ, and Michael Mosiman would be their lone 250 guy. He's already missed several races this year while recovering from head injuries.

While it would be good for Zach to get his start in the 450 class this summer, having a solid presence in the 250 class is also not a bad plan. If he's leading after a few rounds, maybe he stays in the class. If he's not in contention (or clinches early), bring out the 450.

Everything you say I agree with Guy so why the secrets at husky? Hence my mind game comment... do you think Zach is pushing to get on the big bike due to age but corporate is pushing back? Only so many years a rider has before the magic is gone. Should he strike while the iron is hot so to speak?

My gut tells me Osborne will run the #1 during outdoors but...

Is there any chance that an existing guy move over to take Tickle's spot at KTM if (big IF) he is unable to compete moving forward? I'm not sure how closely these 2 teams run with each other. Maybe Wilson moves to KTM and Osborne moves up alongside Anderson?

Again, I think Husky would do well to keep Osborne on the 250 and have a legit shot at both titles.

They should have Mitchell Harrison on 250s too. Unless something happened recently. He did good last year outdoors for Star. His Supercross results haven’t set the world on fire though. And Supercross pays the bills.

Look at who Husky will have in the 250 class without Osborne, it'd be pretty stupid on their part to not put him on a 250 outdoors. I'd love to see him on a 450 but it just doesn't make sense when Husky might not even see the podium in that class without him.

What does it matter if they dont have a guy on a 250? Theyre going to have to bite the bullet at some point. Are they worried osborne will flop on a 450 like webb did?

Osborne is over 3 years older then Anderson. Davalos is 6 years older then Anderson. Makes Anderson seem like a spring chicken and he's already excelling in the 450 class.

Osbourne is 9.5 years older then Forkner.

So when Zach was 25 years old, Austin would have just been getting off Minis practically or just getting on his first big bike as he would have been 15-16 years old.

Zach should have already been in the 450 class by that age lol

To each their own.

Just sayin....

You are correct, sir. Mitchell should also be good for the outdoors.

I'm seeing Osborne going 450 and Wilson filling for Broc Tickle. Maybe.

Osborne will be taking a knee and complaining after the motos when he gets bumped around out there.

Rockstar will be sweet with losing a rider to red bull mid season then? What’s to gain for them in this situation?

A 250 Husky with the #1 on it trumps going to a 450

Well KTM and Husqvarna are the same thing, KTM have a very bad situation, that they need to sort. Now Wilson and KTM didnt work out because Deano got crocked, and Roger had to let him go, that was a business decision that anyone would have done, Deano has put in the hard yards, and is back where he needs to be, and if Osborne moves to 450 , you have 3 white bikes and only one orange one.

Unless they draft a TLD up to 450 , someone needs to fill that second KTM seat, Dungey is done , and i already have a ride ... who else do you put on it.

Why do KTM need to fill in? They ran 1 bike outdoors all last year didn't they? Other than maybe shuffling Shane McElrath up if he's not killing it after a couple of rounds i dont see them actively going to market for this.

Again if i'm Mr Rockstar Energy i'm not sure i care to much that Husky is owned by KTM. I'm not giving up one of my 2 450 riders to go across to a rival energy drink brand to help them out. And i'm sure as shit pushing for Osborne to run that number 1 plate in the 250's, especially given the quality of rider they have to back him up on that team. Sorry to say it but if Zacho doesn't ride the little bike i cant see a white bike anywhere near the podium outdoors.

I think Husqvarna wanted Osborne in the 450 class outdoors, but given Anderson's success they probably expect him to challenge Eli outdoors, too. If Anderson gets this SX title, then I'd suspect them to want the #1 on the FC250 outdoors.

I know I went to public school, but I’m pretty sure they taught me to count. So looking at the current point total, I’m comfortable saying that Anderson is challenging the hell out of Eli in SX - hell, I’d even go so far as to say he’s beating him.

The head guys at Husqvarna are looking at the points, and right now Jason is waxing Eli in that sense.
