how was the 2016 crf450r ? and what was the best mods for it ? i would think it needs spring forks, a better clutch and a exaust and a remap ? how was the reliability on them ? if i remember was it something with the shock that it did not change much with the clicks ? ive got a good deal on one with low hours totaly stock, and wonder if i should buy it or go for something else instead. Thanks.

Depends on the price. Bike is solid with a few tweeks. Mine. Pipe, vortex ecu, A kit fork shock, clutch springs, full yosh. ,good fuel. Great bike now

Agree with mxb2. Depends on how much you want to invest in a bike. The 09-16 450r Honda engines really benefit from uncorking the stock exhaust & a remap. Did these 2 simple mods for only $300 on a 10 model & was blown away what a difference it made. $250 for a clean used Yosh RS-4 Ti complete system & a $50 remap.
If you want to take it to an extreme the efi engines also respond really well to mods..

Just sold my 2016 with 150 hours. Never touched the motor. Forks only blew once. Just check the pressure each time you ride and you’re good to go. My favorite bike of all time.

I would say buy a 17+ Crf. Unless you’re getting the 16 for $2700 it wouldn’t be worth it after you bought all that stuff.
