something about the 80's races always brings me back on YouTube. was watching Dallas 1987 and loving it. sure, i was introduced into the sport in the 80's, but it's just different. something special was happening then.

with that said, it would be SO cool to see a complete replica track (unlike the Anaheim '86 redo in '96, which wasn't really a replica) and have some elite racers, whether from x games or the current sx series, compete with the same bikes from that year. it could be dangerous with the skills they have today (although those skills evolved from previous generations). i also wish MX vs ATV would release a retro game, but i digress.

i would buy tickets to a race like this in a nanosecond. curious if anyone else would have interest in such a competition.

Doubt you would see a retro supercross but maybe at day in the dirt? Possibly some kind of charity event with 20 or so new and old riders on the gate. I'm sure there are plenty of mid-80's machines out there owners would turn loose of. Race tech or some others could step up and get the bikes setup enough to be competitive. I would love to see it.

I would absolutely love to see it but I don't see it ever happening outside of a day in the dirt type event. There are great vintage races at the amateur level going on though.
