What kit and pipe combo is that semi-low boy setup for the KX500? Is that the zip-ty racing? Or am i looming at a kxd220? I know zip-ty makes a kit that runs sort of a low boy pipe for the KX500so chill everybody im not that looney haha

Ewww I know that jump in the first few pics.....its the old uphill triple at Club Moto....that thing was always so intimidating till i took my skirt off and sent it.

That last one is for sure carnegie ...having been down in socal the last 18 years riding moto amd my love for Beaumont but I cut my teeth growing up riding Carnegie from 5 to 21 years old till i moved and i never understood why more people never built up some good jumps at Carnegie .....the dirt is PERFECT for that kind of Tomfoolery ..
Id love to find this jump though, it looks fun!

Heres me riding at PiruMx circa Feb 2006-ish i only remember that bec my buddy had just gotten the 2006 CRF450r and let me ride it and i was shocked at how much more nimble and quick handling it was compared to my like new (at the time) 2004 CRF450r ...which btw that 04 had AWESOME forks bone stock! I weighed around 200lbs at the time and they were perfectly plush but could easily handle big hits.... this jump was pretty big as a downhill 80' table with a really sharp lip. I remember this was one of those days we all remember where we were just on it and could do no wrong....before this jump there was a tight chicane and i would come around hitting this jump out of a TIGHT inside rut nailing this thing in 2nd gear pinned! It was such a good feeling the way the bike would just load up (suspension and chassis wise) and fly perfectly....wish you could see the ground in this pic to get an idea bec it was a good sized booter that day at least.

Still-shot from my buddy's helmet cam. In the midst of a 65-70ft double. I think it's a pretty cool shot.

Yup that's the good ole uphill triple, it was scary at first but after you got it down it was fun. The owner of Club Moto at that time didn't mess around he built some monster jumps out there back in the day. Did you ever ride out there when they had the Arenacross track, that finish double was scary. I got hurt pretty bad on that one.

That jump at Carnegie was right in the front of the Park, you basically jumped the trail that led to the dried out lake in the hills if you know where that was. There used to be some other big jumps out there that we built with shovels, but I'm sure theyve been destroyed by now.

Did you ever ride the track Rspeed in the hills above the Altamont raceway? It was all really big jumps out there and they had the freestyle ramp built into the back of a pick up? It was only around for a few years but man it was fun if it wasn't windy, which it usually was.

I second that notion about that uphill triple.....yea the owner at that time built some serious hits from time to time... And hell yes i remember the arenacross track i was so slose to pulling the trigger on that double but that fence being so close just didnt seem like a good idea if i got squirrelly in my first few attempts but now i know that "feel" and i had it to clear that thing i was just being a girl about it. The old owner used to RIP around that place in baggy gear on a yz426 right? I know he got hurt which was sad bec he would haul some ass out there.

A couple of nights when we'd go practice there, Rodney Smith would be there on his gncc or cross country RM250 and do lap after lap around that arenacross track making the double look easy at times. Used to be some fast dudes that would show up out there.... Jeff Pestana, Rusty Holland, Billy Jurvich (sp) Craig Trujio on that KX125 ....DAM.

Do you still ride at Club Moto? I used to go like 2-3 times a week between 1998-2001 and just moved back up to norcal Im pretty sure im gonna make my "alley like return" to Club Moto this weekend on Saturday...its been like 18 years since ive ridden there....jesus 18 years?!?!?! Everyone around where i live rides bec its cool none of they will even show up to a track to ride ...EVER i think theyd be scared to watch lol .... But me? I cant wait to get out and rip strips off my KX25O.....speaking of which, does anyone got an OEM silencer for a 03-07 (mines an 03) KX250 laying around that theyd like to donate? Lol ill pay the shipping ...having just moved back my affairs arent all in order but this bike has this god awful 3' long turbine core silencer on it that looks like garbage and i really want to put a normal silencer on it baaaaad
3/8/2018 9:14pm
Ya the owner Kirk used to rip a yzf426, but I always remember him wearing traditional fox gear. I think your thinking of Shawn who was Kirk's go to guy, he stayed at the track and did everything from maintance, watering, track prep/building......oh ya he wore baggy gear and ripped the shit out of a kx500! I got to know him pretty good and was just showing up to the track for Tuesday night practice after he got hurt and the life flight helicopter was landing at the RC plane field across the street. I remember it like it was yesterday.
On a brighter note on top of the guys you named above I've seen the Alessi family, Bobby Bonds, Jeff Northrup, Jeff Willow, Tyler Evans, Evan Laughridge, Tiger Lacey, Danny Smith, Jason McCormick, and Scott Plessinger. Missed the night when Emig and Hughes showed up before Hangtown one year, I'll always regret that since Emig is my favorite all time rider and was at my home track 20 minutes away. I missed riding on the same track as him because of some bs.
I quit riding in my mid 20's because of some scares, seeing close friends having life changing crashes, and I had a young son and his mother to provide for. But I'm considering buying a Husky 250 2smoke in the next month, my son rides all the time and has been running his mouth about being able to smoke me. Haha
