That last one is for sure carnegie ...having been down in socal the last 18 years riding moto amd my love for Beaumont but I cut my teeth growing up riding Carnegie from 5 to 21 years old till i moved and i never understood why more people never built up some good jumps at Carnegie .....the dirt is PERFECT for that kind of Tomfoolery ..
Id love to find this jump though, it looks fun!
2nd gear so hard
Still-shot from my buddy's helmet cam. In the midst of a 65-70ft double. I think it's a pretty cool shot.
KX144 in 2010:
That jump at Carnegie was right in the front of the Park, you basically jumped the trail that led to the dried out lake in the hills if you know where that was. There used to be some other big jumps out there that we built with shovels, but I'm sure theyve been destroyed by now.
Did you ever ride the track Rspeed in the hills above the Altamont raceway? It was all really big jumps out there and they had the freestyle ramp built into the back of a pick up? It was only around for a few years but man it was fun if it wasn't windy, which it usually was.
The old Arenacross double at Club Moto
Some other rabdom big jump at Club Moto that lasted less than 2 weeks from people getting injured
Pit Row
Few years ago, like a blast of cow patty from the sky (450 WR actually).
Plop
The Mud Mullet
Drtbykr1 Utube.
A couple of nights when we'd go practice there, Rodney Smith would be there on his gncc or cross country RM250 and do lap after lap around that arenacross track making the double look easy at times. Used to be some fast dudes that would show up out there.... Jeff Pestana, Rusty Holland, Billy Jurvich (sp) Craig Trujio on that KX125 ....DAM.
Do you still ride at Club Moto? I used to go like 2-3 times a week between 1998-2001 and just moved back up to norcal Im pretty sure im gonna make my "alley like return" to Club Moto this weekend on Saturday...its been like 18 years since ive ridden there....jesus 18 years?!?!?! Everyone around where i live rides bec its cool none of they will even show up to a track to ride ...EVER i think theyd be scared to watch lol .... But me? I cant wait to get out and rip strips off my KX25O.....speaking of which, does anyone got an OEM silencer for a 03-07 (mines an 03) KX250 laying around that theyd like to donate? Lol ill pay the shipping ...having just moved back my affairs arent all in order but this bike has this god awful 3' long turbine core silencer on it that looks like garbage and i really want to put a normal silencer on it baaaaad
On a brighter note on top of the guys you named above I've seen the Alessi family, Bobby Bonds, Jeff Northrup, Jeff Willow, Tyler Evans, Evan Laughridge, Tiger Lacey, Danny Smith, Jason McCormick, and Scott Plessinger. Missed the night when Emig and Hughes showed up before Hangtown one year, I'll always regret that since Emig is my favorite all time rider and was at my home track 20 minutes away. I missed riding on the same track as him because of some bs.
I quit riding in my mid 20's because of some scares, seeing close friends having life changing crashes, and I had a young son and his mother to provide for. But I'm considering buying a Husky 250 2smoke in the next month, my son rides all the time and has been running his mouth about being able to smoke me. Haha
