That is way out there but most bikes on ebay are grossly overpriced in my opinion.

Agreed. I have the same thought each time I look at bikes on eBay. Any vehicle on eBay really, autos are overpriced as well.

I can understand that certain vehicles there is a rarity to finding a NOS model and the price may reflect that rarity.

But here we are talking about a bike that is still in production with a few small changes, that costs brand new less than one-tenth of that asking price. Is the nostalgia play for white paint and less pointy plastic that strong?

And we are also talking about a z50r. Nothing iconic like a CR500 !

IMO, it is an equally iconic model, but insanely common and typically dirt cheap.

Last year for the Honda Z 50. I would say that this is maybe one of the most iconic bikes in the history of Moto. (Not these actual bikes but the Honda Z 50 in general)

Just like the muscle car boom, you have people with a crapload of disposable income buying either what they had as children, or wanted and couldn’t.

Well in that case a PW50 or 125 DT is iconic. Yet it will never be worth more than a few k. I would never put it in my living room, whereas a 125 kx stewart or 125 rm pastrana would be welcome !
