If its true, I think its evidence of how much Mitch Payton believes in his program.

Davalos obvously has speed and talent...and Mitch thinks his program can make up the rest and get him a title.

Mitch ain't no dummy.

Where'd you hear that? It might just be what he needs. Kid definitely has skills. Just needs to keep them outta the dirt.

Davalos is as fast as anyone...at times. He needs some focus, mentor, and good equipment. He'll do very well on a PC bike.

How is Davalos still eligible to ride in the lites class?
He has been riding in the lites since 2006.

From the AMA 2012 rulebook.
Effective with the 2007 season points, riders earning at least 120 Supercross Lites
Championship points in an eight-race season, or 105 Supercross Lites
Championship points in a seven-race season, in three seasons of Supercross
Lites competition will be ineligible for the Supercross Lites class.

Could be on a 450. Mitch said if he had the budget he'd keep it going.

He gets hurt just about every year and misses races so he never scores enough total points to get booted from the 250 class.

It does not make much sense to me he has had the chance on Star Racing, Factory KTM, Rockstar Suzuki among others and never gets the job done. He gets a podium or two just often enough to keep getting another good ride. Maybe PC can fix him but who knows.

He ususally misses a lot of races. The most points that I found for him was 89.

Davalos is a head case. He is too picky about his bike and setup. He will never be able to finish a season without at least 3 DNFs all due to his OCD.

Wilson would be crazy not to jump at the opportunity to work with Roger Decoster at KTM. He would only get better going there.

I'd like to see Jason Anderson on a Pro Circuit bike. Maybe snag Herlings if he comes over (I don't think he'd be that good over here but who knows...)

Another thing I've noticed about Mitch is that he's very loyal and willing to take risks (often at steep odds) on riders that he likes (Hansen, Pourcel, and Tedesco)...sometimes those risks payoff, and sometimes they don't. But I don't think that takes away from his proven track record of turning talented riders that just can't quite seem to get it together into champions. If he signed Davalos he obviously thinks that he has the missing pieces of his puzzle....
